HiveFest 8 In Two Weeks

HiveFest's dedicated mobile app - created by @roelandp - has been updated with details regarding Hivefest 8 in Rosarito, and waiting to be a useful companion guide for participants.

Time for participants to let organizers know of their itinerary and if they have special dietary requirements.

Haven't secured your ticket yet? Price will go up by 50% in a few days.

Can't afford the ticket? You still have a chance to win one of two tickets sponsored by Blocktrades. But you have to pay for your traveling and accommodation expenses.

As always, participants to HiveFest will receive a HiveBuzz badge for the event. Participation to multiple Hivefests will be marked accordingly.

Hive at BREATHE! Las Vegas Next Week

But before Hivefest, Hive will have a massive presence at a huge convention for future tech and Web3 in Las Vegas. I've talked about it in more details this week, but this is the official announcement.

He hasn't done that for a while, being focused on Splinterlands, but at his 6 years anniversary on Hive, he shared some of his viewpoints, including about one of the recent hot topics, interest on HBD.

11th Borehole Project Initiated in Ghana

As always, the team comes with something new. This time we have a video with the drilling.

McSamm was invited at CTT to talk about this new borehole project and not only. A more applied discussion on the sustainability of the project long term, the size it can grow to using only Value Plan funding and more was initiated by starkerz.

Hive in Venezuelan Press

Genuinely socializing can get someone... an interview. This appears to be the case here, and Hive got the spotlight.

In a different place, ConectaTech was a tech and Web3 event held in Valencia, Venezuela. Looks like Hive got a mention in the local paper as well, on top of the presentation(s) at the event. Here's one of multiple posts describing ConectaTech:

Pushup Challenge in Lebanon

Actifit held a fun challenge in the Beirut waterfront area, where many people who want to walk gather, according to the post.

They offered cash prizes for reaching certain number of pushups, and also very cool cards promoting Actifit and the Hive ecosystem.

Collaboration between Hive and Museum of Fine Arts from Caracas Moves On

Looks like the artists went through a photo/video session, they were onboarded on Hive and they will publish their own introductions.

That appears to be one of the reasons why institutional investors do not invest in bitcoin as a treasury asset. One by one, the reasons for them not to buy and hold bitcoin are removed. More details can be found here.

Sell ETH to Fiat Directly From Metamask

News broke this week that Metamask added the possibility to sell ETH to fiat directly. For now in the US, UK, and probably the Eurozone (article says parts of Europe, but mentions payments in Euro), but the support will extend. The fiat currencies currently supported are USD, GPB and EUR. This article dives into the subject.

A small clarification for the readers of your post:

In the case of Hive on the Cryptotendencia's site, it is not Venezuelan national press. The site is considered among the three most influential media in the Spanish-speaking cryptosphere and is headquartered in Argentina.

It looks like I wasn't missing too much from this week. As of right now, I see a decent amount of talk about HBD interest rates but it doesn't look like it has affected the median APR yet.

As of right now, I see a decent amount of talk about HBD interest rates but it doesn't look like it has affected the median APR yet.

There are two possibilities: 1. the camp that wants HBD interest as is at 20% started to make its point; 2. the decision was taken to delay the gradual drop in inflation rate for the time being.

Yes, it is. Awareness for Hive grows with each such article. Although, I stand corrected. The online media that published the interview is Argentinian, not Venezuelan, but it seems to be one of the most important crypto publications from Spanish-language countries (at least from Latin America).
