We Lost, But It Has Been Fun!
I talked yesterday about the Battle of the Three Armies and how I was thrown in the middle of this battle because I was added to one of the teams (who made the selection, by the way? :)
As I said yesterday, I didn't want to let my team down by not contributing at all, plus threading would have helped with my yearly comment goal.
Now, seeing the kind of numbers others have put in, I am truly impressed.
I added my contribution to my team, but look at these guys:
These are just from my team, but there are a few with higher points in other teams.
Compared to them, here I am:
Pretty good, in my opinion, particularly for a non-regular user of Threads, but these guys (and a few others not on that list) deserve our gratitude for keeping us in the fight to the end.
Now, at the personal level, I've done what I could. Personally, I don't know how they've achieved so high scores, I started seeing double after about 3-4 hours or so of doing mainly that.
It's true, I wasn't focused on maximizing my points, but rather on engaging. Comments to threads and replies and replies to replies should have scored pretty well, though.
This is the change when it comes to my commenting pattern before and during this event.
As you can see, there's quite a jump, even though I was used to commenting before the battle. My highest number of comments caught on this chart before the battle was on June 6, and they were 19.
During these two days, I've put in, curiously, the same number of comments: 84. More than 4 times what I did in my most active commenting day caught in this chart, but frankly, they felt like more than that.
Anyway, the weekly comments guideline I have to be able to reach my comments goal by the end of the year is a little bit over 100.
I blew this away this week! This feels good because I've gotten tired of being below the guideline for a long time and having to increase my guideline as a consequence almost weekly. I'll reduce this guideline for a change this week. I'm curious if the new one will be back below 100. I guess we'll find out on Monday.
This Battle of the Three Armies was a nice and quite fun distraction from my usual routine.
While I don't want to promise anything, I might start using Threads more going forward...

Nice and interesting mini competition.
Yep, it was. And it had its turns and twists. We were in the first spot more than once.
It must definetely be fun
It's over, but it was fun! And tiring.
It was still a win because it helped you to achieve and surpass your goal for engagement and comments.

That's true! On a personal level, it was a win either way. Even as a team, we did well! We were first more than once, and we fought hard to the end.
Great to hear that, @gadrian! All positives all around.
Have a great day! 😆
Oh, that's why there were so many spam comments all around... 😜
Yep! There were! Not mine though. I tried to refrain from doing that.

Thanks for sharing!
It was definitely a fun battle. I did what I could but I think my total threads count was closer to 500 or so. Considering the numbers from the other teams, there were a ton of threads and I have quite a few long conversations with people too. Some of them going 10 levels deep. Threads tend to be a bit slower without the battles though.
Yeah, my points were halved too compared to the number of threads. I guess the length mattered too, and not all of mine were very lengthy.
Yep, so did I. Actually, that was probably my forte.
I guess that's expectable.

As you can see that the number of people using daily threats is increasing, it is very good for this project, it will benefit all the people and it will be more fun to work here and the game is so interesting.
Yes, the activity on Threads increased drastically during the battle. Now has taken a step back, but is still ok.
You have done a great job, win or loss is a part of life.
Thanks for the encouragement! :) That's true, both wins and losses are part of life.
It was a good contest because it made me leave my comfort zone on engaging in a social media setting.
I joined Twitter several years ago just to get President Trump's tweets, and then it was helpful during COVID. Other than that, I did not use the platform.
Threads is still new to me but I think it is something I can work into my daily routine.

Yep, I barely use(d) Twitter myself. But, to be fair, it's the only traditional social media platform I still have an account at. For Threads, I guess it'll be a process.
