Museum of Fine Arts from Caracas to Have an NFT Gallery on Hive

(Edited)

Another great news from Venezuela after the one from last week in Sucre.

This time it is from the capital Caracas, where two teams of Hivers met with museum officials on two separate occasions.

Source

The second time, they made a 3-point proposal that involves:

  • training the museum's artists into Web3, especially NFT and Hive art
  • carrying out joint dissemination activities; potential examples: Hive artists exhibiting at the museum, exhibitions organized by Hive in shopping malls, to bring people closer to the artists of the museum
  • creating an NFT gallery of the museum itself, in the style of @nftshowroom (only for museum artists)

The proposal was accepted by the museum.

Here is the announcement post.

What Does it Bring the Museum?

I don't know if that's true, but the General Director of the museum said it would be the first museum in the world to directly create an NFT art platform. You can tell they especially loved this last point.

They would get more exposure both for the museum and for their artists. Potential of advertising and even hyping this.

Their artists get trained in a field that may disrupt their world.

What Does it Bring Hive?

More exposure (and credibility?) as an NFT art platform.

If the part for Hive artists exhibiting at the museum becomes reality and that is for Hivers that are not artists of the museum, that gives (probably some) Hive artists a physical location to exhibit at, where many wouldn't otherwise have access to.

And last but not least, curious eyes (including buyers) that search through the museum's NFT gallery may also look for other artists creating on the same blockchain... The reverse may also be true if there are links between the websites.

In Closing

Venezuela definitely became one of the powerhouses of Hive, when it comes to field action, in-person marketing/teaching, and general activity.

Since I started aggregating and integrating this kind of news in my weekly roundup, I can see a clearer picture of what is going on and I see a few countries and regions that seem to excel in this direction: Venezuela, Ghana, the Philippines, maybe Cuba. If you know more of them that will help me see the overall picture better, I'd be happy if you drop me a comment on what account(s) to follow.

If a museum creates an NFT art platform, there will be so much attention on them and that is going to make some sense
That's cool...

I believe the Hive Engine team has a way of creating websites with support for NFT art, like nftshowroom. I believe the team that approached the museum might use this avenue, but it's just my speculation.

It's mutually advantageous for both the museum and Hive.

What fantastic news and I hope that this idea will be realized soon! It would be great to see both parties satisfied with the result and it could help both in getting more visitors/members!
Great job by our Venezuelan Hivians!

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project which will be highlighted in the next post!

They surely did a great job over there! Now it's up to how they agree to implement this proposal in practice, down to details. If everything goes well, I believe it will be beneficial to both the museum and Hive.

That is interesting news to see. I am quite glad to see that Hive is having an impact in the less wealthier countries.

I am actually looking forward to seeing a greater impact in wealthier countries too. But we might not see the same kind of wildfire adoption like in the countries I enumerated (although Hive has strong numbers in North America, for example). In one case it's seen as a side gig or maybe a hobby, in another it puts food on the table, right now.

This is great news for Crypto, NFT, and Hive as a whole. I think the blockchain technology in mainstream media is inevitable. Them doing this makes them prepared for it earlier.

Indeed, I loved reading that piece of news!

I think the blockchain technology in mainstream media is inevitable.

I think even the most reticent about this technology will agree to this at some point.

Them doing this makes them prepared for it earlier.

Absolutely. Especially since art, and the way it will be done in the future, seems to be among the very first to be impacted by this technology and NFTs in particular.
