Last Leo Power Up Day of the Year
It's half of December and a little over two weeks until the end of the year and I started to see end-of-year goals wrapup posts from the early achievers among us. Others started to publish overviews of the year that is about to end, and I even saw a post in preparation for the 2024 resolutions we are likely to miss.
It looks like I have an issue completing my goals with time to spare at the end of the year. I haven't done that last year, and won't do that this year either. It is still possible to achieve the most important goals I have remaining, but I'll have to push it to the limit, to the last week of the year. Just like last year. I don't like that. I'll need to adjust that a bit.
One of the goals that is calculated to be achieved (hopefully, at the limit) on the last week of the month/year is the Leo staking goal.
Today, for LPUD, I powered up my regular 200 LEO per week.
I realized when I saw the rules for the additional LPUD category that I wouldn't be able to make it. If I could, my goal would be completed right now.
15% of 21900 is 3285 LEO which I should have powered up to qualify.
What I understood, however, was that this category for LPUD would exert a certain buy pressure on LEO, so I made my purchase of LEO for both last week's power-up and LPUD on Sunday and Monday before the price went up.
Looks like I wasn't wrong about it.
So... I am currently at 21,100 LP, with 400 remaining to complete this year's goal. With a few days off Hive around Christmas, this could be a tough one, but achievable.
Unlike HIVE Power, LEO Power doesn't come with associated resource credits, doesn't have any governance role, no interest coming just by holding it, and has a lower curation APR. What it has is the promise of ad revenue sharing for actively curating stakeholders and the possibility to distribute rewards without a dust threshold. Plus, it comes with an active community, which is not a small thing, and a platform that is developed continuously.
It's like comparing fruits and vegetables though, they are different. But they both can be important, and, because I like both fruits and vegetables, I had both HP and LP as two of my main goals for this year.

Happy LPUD and I also powered up 200 LEO. It's still possible for you to reach it by the end of the year.
Happy LPUD to you too! Well done powering up 200 LEO! Yes, in my case, I need 2x200 more powerups.
Such things give a lot of benefit to the project and people have more faith in the project and hence the prices also go up.
