How Do You Conciously Use AI on Hive?

avatar

Using AI for content creation without a major input from the human creator behind the account is not looked upon with good eyes on Hive due to the limited pool of resources to be distributed for "proof of brain", not for "proof of using an AI" (although, I suppose that's a kind of proof of brain).

Personally, I don't have an issue fully AI generated content, if rewards are declined, burned, sent to DHF or if the account is known to create AI content (for example, by mentioning that in the author description or in every post).

I've seen it used, declared or through my own perception, to improve the structure of the post or change the ordering of ideas (sections), to fix spelling and grammar mistakes and rewording your text to make it easier to read, or to replace words with more distinguished synonyms and different ones.

Until now I haven't used an AI to improve my posts, although I know they can be very good at that. I preferred them in the raw form, even though I use a spell checker to not have obvious mistakes.

What I do use AI for is to speed up my content consumption. There are different ways to do that, from basic translation from other languages, to creating quick recaps (the AI takes care of translation first) or other types of extraction of essential information from a text. You can find these and more on PeakD, if you didn't know.

Something else that is still in the content consumption area is using AI-generated threadstorms to quickly go through more news on particular topics and only expand what you are interested in. In my case, for crypto, but there are other topics, like business or life and I think, sports. Probably the number of topics expanded or changed since the last time I checked them out.

But I've seen more uses of AI on Hive. From AI-generated graphics for games (Ragnarok and possibly others) to mini-scripts created by AI - I saw one such script created as a helper for Golem Overlord, to clear/hide unwanted targets from the list.

There may be elements of content we are not aware is AI-generated. For example, Khal talked about a plan to link LeoGlossary terms into a post using AI to make the associations. There were more details shared, but this is not the place for them and I'm sure they'll change several times from then to implementation and then to release. This could be an example where the average user may not be aware AI is used to make those connections and yet will use the new feature, when it will be available. As I'm sure some users don't know those news threadstorms are created by AI either, since I sometimes see replies (threads) as if you talk to a person.

AI will soon be so embedded in our lives - whether we like it or not - that they will be much like smartphones. Become indispensable. Get ready for that because that time is not far away.

AI content might later become rapid on hive Blockchain if not well careful. It might not be able to be handled

We need to be careful of the boundaries of its uses and of the evolution of AI, on which we have little say, unfortunately.

I was totally against AI in the beginning and I still consider Hive content created by AI to be a sort of plagiarism. You can find many productive ways of using it though. I use it for translations and proofreading.

I agree! There are many ways it can be used as a tool without diminishing our creativity.

I have not used it yet but thanks for sharing this with us.

AI has become very widespread whether we are aware of it or not. Most of us have used it one way or another without even realizing it. Feeds on traditional social media are heavily AI-influenced.

I still don't like AI posts in Hive. But I do agree that if they decline or burn or not profit from the post, then it is ok. It is similar to how I feel about bots in Splinterlands. Bots and AI feel like cheating the system. You can make multiple posts in a short amount of time with little effort with AI. Once we allow it, I feel like Hive will lose its social aspect. There will be no personal touch to posts.

I agree with this. When AI content rises, we will lose a good part of the social aspect of Hive. Nobody wants to talk to an AI as if it's a person. At least I think many of us don't, for the time being. We don't know how the trends will change in the future...

I think it's fine if it is declared and you decline rewards as well. However, I think it will be tough in the future as AI gets better. I don't use AI at all though.

Yeah, we will have lots of AIs impersonating humans, for sure, in many cases allowed to run things by humans in their stead. It's okay when you know you are dealing with an AI in a social environment or situation, but not as much when you think you are dealing with a real person who turns out to be an AI.

I would use AI to generate ideas for content to then go and research them and write the post on my own. I didn't know about the content consumption options for using AI. How does that work?
AI is a disruptive technology that we are all trying to figure out. Look at the strikes in Hollywood. Some of that is centered around whether or not AI should be used for script writing or to generate characters in a show with out having to have an actor that would be paid. AI is just another thing that can be used for bad or good. It depends on the person using it. Isn't that where it starts?

That's true, generative AI will replace many creative jobs. About content consumption options for AI (and others), check out AI menu on every post on PeakD.

Thank you for the screenshot. I never even noticed that was there. Is it fairly new or have I missed it for a long time?

Honestly, we must not allow AI to thrive on here.
We can do better than writing what we know instead of generating posts from AI because of money

I agree that using AI for entire content creation on Hive given its particularities of a limited reward pool to share, would be bad for Hive and the social aspect of it. But AI can still be used in other ways.

While AI is an awesome tool, what I think should be shared will be personal thoughts and perceptions rather what the AI thinks.

On a social platform that Hive partially is, keeping the social aspect is important. But some AI-generated content can be useful too.

Hi, @gadrian thank you for your post on AI. Yes, we will have to get use to AI even if we don't feel good about it like myself for example. Have a great week! Barb !BBH !CTP #ctp
