Daydreaming

Our minds make really strange connections sometimes... And yet, that's how our memory works, by connecting events together, associating them with feelings, and whatever we perceived from our senses. That's why our memory is at best a subjective approximation of what happened.

But memory is not really what I want to talk about in this post.

I am not particularly fond of air conditioning devices because I tend to catch a cold when using them, even if I don't set low temperatures.

That's why I sometimes use it to cool the room while I'm not there, but not while I work.

We are pretty fortunate to have the house well isolated too, so much so that when a worker came by this afternoon he thought we have AC on. We also learned some tricks to let as little sun or hot air go in as possible during hot days, and it makes a difference.

Anyway, as I was sitting in my chair about to write my post, my mind wondered around. A heatwave started this week and looks like my mind doesn't like that. I started thinking how good it would feel to be next to a pool and jump right in.

Well, no pool, so I guess we'll both have to settle for a shower. :)

Maybe just this one, to trick my mind, lol:

However, that's not how the train of thoughts ended.

And this is when it became... strange.

After thinking about a cooling pool, my next thought was to a diesel pool. Yep, name associations, but I actually imagined how the cool water from the pool would turn into diesel fuel. Still have no idea why these guys came up with the diesel pool name for liquidity pool.

A better entrepreneur than I am would have thought this is a great opportunity to sell all that diesel fuel, but no, my next thought was it would catch fire from the heat. :)

I do have daydreams like this from time to time. Sometimes they are really productive as I can extract great ideas from them, other times they are just funny or strange associations that the logical part of my brain can't use much.

Do you daydream? Do you allow yourself to daydream or snap out of it when you catch yourself doing it?

I am Asthmatic and turning on the AC makes my blocks my chest so fast...
And I think daydreaming is something that everyone does.
It is very common

My mother is asthmatic, and I know it can be quite problematic.

Yes, people do daydream. However, I know there are people out there who don't allow themselves to daydream thinking it's a waste of time, so they suppress it.

Not at all. Whenever I have some free time, I always find myself daydreaming about different possibilities. Sometimes, new ideas that I could test out come from daydreaming. I think it's good to let the mind wander from time to time :)

I agree! I extract new ideas from daydreaming all the time. I believe daydreaming is very healthy for the brain, and those who don't allow themselves to daydream make a mistake, even when imagination leads them to strange or impossible associations.

Hello @gadrian It would be so nice to go swimming in that pool with a view of the tropical beach! 🤩 🌴 🌅 Or wade into the beautiful blue water off of a white sandy beach on a tropical island! Barb !BBH !CTP #ctp

Oh, yes it would. But looks like for now the closest I'll be to it is through that photo. Between the two, I think I prefer walking along the seaside.

Isn't it a little late for the current epoch? I read @anomadsoul's post on it, and if I understood right, we are at the point where only closing signals is possible. I'll be interested to join the next one. A question: for the Metamask connection, on which chain are the transactions? Ethereum? BSC?

You have until September 17 to open signals! So you are still in time!

It uses a custom net, you have to chance to SanR mainnet (it will prompt you to do so when you are opening a signal).

Ok then! I'll do my best to join later today.

It happens sometimes after playing games. I usually snap myself out of it to move on with life.

I am also not sure why they called it diesel pools either.

Ah, you mean you remain in the role of the character for a while? Yeah, maybe that's not useful. But I believe daydreaming in general is healthy for the brain, and allows it to make interesting connections with the information you feed it, coupled with your memories, sometimes your mindset (sometimes not), etc.

I daydream constantly, while doing tasks such as knitting that don't require my full intellectual power. Unless someone is actively engaging with me, my mind could be anywhere. !CTP

That's true. It's best not to daydream when you need to focus, but otherwise why not? Let your mind free.

I also do have daydreams at times and they turn to reality sometimes
