My Very First Power Up

Happy Power Up Day!!!

Today is a really exciting day for me, I am so so happy, today I finally got to power up, I just joined the group of those who power up and earn the right to brag about in their power up posts. I am so excited to announce to you that I powered up.

This feat I attained today is actually a very huge one. The fact that I get to see others power up and I was not able to, was not so funny, not to talk about not having an idea when I would be able to power up was not a thought that I wanted to think about.

During the last August power up day, while going about congratulating those who were able to power up, both ones I knew and the ones I didn't, some encouraged me that with hard work and consistency I would get to the point where I could power up.

I then made a promise to myself, that I was going to power up on the next power up day which was on the first of September. Seeing as it was my birth month I was hopeful.

But hope or wishing alone doesn't get you anywhere, hard work and consistency is also required. I had to put in the work to achieve what I wanted.

So I began engaging in contests in some communities but it wasn't easy winning most of them at all, the least I got was being upvoted, but I wasn't deterred.

I think I had about just 0.003 or so Hive at that time. So I got to learn about the hive-buzz gaming contest and I immediately jumped on it, but one of the requirements to participate was to send 1 Hive to them and I didn't have up to that amount, but @Ibbtammy was gracious enough to give me 1Hive to enable me to participate.

At the end of the contest, I was given 9 Hives, to say I was excited was an understatement, I was overjoyed, and I had to convert some of my HBD to be to power up.

Being able to power up today is something I'm grateful for, I'm glad that my dream of powering up finally came through today.

This might not mean anything to some people, but it means a whole lot to me.

During my short stay here, I've learned so much and I will keep on learning and discovering new things in this very vast ecosystem called Hive.

I intend to engage more on the blockchain with others making more meaningful posts and commenting and replying on people's posts.

Most of all, I intend to power up more by the next power up day, and get a minimum of 300HP.
