Everything is too Expensive

I don't know where you live and if all of the events that take place in the world have somehow influenced you but here in Greece everything is getting from worse to worst money-wise. If you listen to the traditional news or the government speaking you will hear that we are doing great, our economy is on a roll, the minimum wage has been increased and that our everyday lives are getting better and better.

The sad reality is completely different in literally every aspect. The prices of everything have gone up, higher than a crypto pump :p. The first excuse was the war in Ukraine that led to inflation and stuff like that. That had some truth in it but after a while, the inflation started decreasing generally in Europe and even though Greece was a bit above the average mark, the prices haven't decreased the slightest.

Ofc most of the citizens knew it already but the government would not want to admit it. After the inflation excuse was over, the sad reality that everybody knew came out. This reality is that basically most of the big corporations out there are taking advantage of us without the government playing any role in that regard.

When people started going crazy and ofc they had valid reasons to, the government decided to let's say take a look at the situation. To understand it better, mostly everything you can find in a supermarket in the span of 2-3 years has doubled or even tripled in price. The grant example is the baby milk which is 2-3 times higher in Greece than the Scandinavian countries.

Even some specific chicken breasts that i buy, used to be sold for 6 euros 2-3 years ago and now i can find them for 11.5. At the same time, the electricity, rents and everything else have increased as well while the salaries in general have remained the same, so you can imagine what's the situation like.

Now the measures let's say that the government took, are simply to check whether these multinational companies are doing things according to the law and then fine them in different cases. Once again it's all marketing and public relations, for example, we get to see fines of up to 1$ to multi-billion dollar companies that by simply using these let's say illegal methods, earned way more than the fine itself, which is ridiculous if you ask me.

Hopefully, one day things will get better but for that day to come we need to pay a bit more attention on what to vote and tolerate.

Over here, things aren't look better either. Sometimes, I do think that these government officials are oblivious to what's really going on or they have no idea on how to solve it. I think the disparity between income and expense in general is reaching a point where many people decide they've had enough of this situation.
