More Mitten Progress

(Edited)

Two mitten bodies, close enough to matching, are ready for thumbs. This is an interesting process, so I'd like to share it.

First, I must carefully put onto needles the stitches held on the yellow waste yarn and be sure I don't drop a stitch.

Then I remove the yellow yarn.

I then arrange the thumb stitches on short glove needles and start knitting around.

Soon I will have mittens ready for next winter.

I've always been curious about knitting with several needles, how wonderful.😀

Before there were circular needles, all circular knitting was done on double-pointed needles. There is even a famous painting of the Madonna knitting with double-pointed needles. !PIZZA

Beautifully crafted ❤️🌹.. Can one achieve this via crocheting?

Yes, similar. Try searching for tapestry crochet or slip stitch crochet for mittens. !PIZZA
