Write The Conclusion Before You Start

Do you know where you are going?

Most themes in art and literature encouraged us to always write the ending first when writing our life story. How interesting is that?

The idea is that, If you write the ending of your life story first, you see your destination clearly even before you start. You will know where those big moments of your life will be. You know where exactly you are heading, what to accept and what not to accept. Writing the ending of your life story first will make the rest of your life journey fall in order much easier.

But, why might we even attempt such an exercise? Let's look at the analogy.

The journey to our dreams always begins by taking the first step, but quite often that first step is usually the hardest. A lot of people have excuses for failing to take that first step and starting what they want to do. But in practice, I see one reason why many of us failed in taking that first step to pursue their dreams: Fear of failure.

Fear is a powerful element that can either hold you back or drive you to do things beyond your imagination. Fear has both positive and negative effects. On the positive side, it can push you to dare the devil when you fear the consequences of not doing anything towards your dreams. Its negative effect is destructive, in that it turns you into a snail that keeps looking for favorable conditions before making moves.

We need to draw a line about where we want to go in life and how to get there. I have observed how often most people talk about what they want to achieve and their plans on how to go about it. But, hardly do you hear anyone talk about how they can stick with those plans and finish them.

These bring us to the reason why we need to write the ending of our story first before starting the journey. Doing so helps us identify where we might face problems in the future and the solutions to apply. It shows us the nature of our fears and how we can deal with them.

Having a great dream is very satisfying, but we must realize that most of our decisions and actions are much influenced by where we are going and what we are pursuing.

There are no ending points in the pursuit of dreams. One end is the beginning of another, and any beginning is the end of something. Where you are going depends on where you are now. But the journey is not a short distance race, it's a marathon. Hence you need a compass to lead you in the right direction. This is why you need to write the ending of your journey first before you start. Doing that presents to you the routes that lead to your life's dream destination.

All of these boil down to the big question: What do you want in life? Once you get an answer to the question and write it out, you are set on a path that will help your dreams come easier because from then on the journey is clear.

Writing the conclusion before the start lets you see your life in a decade from now and beyond. It's a vision compass that helps you navigate the journey of your life. You are able to figure out what courses to enroll into in college, and what career to pursue after school. Your vision compass helps you narrow down your choices about the career field you should go for.

Like a building where you get to have the architect design the plan before embarking on erection, writing the conclusion before the start lets you set out your point of interest before starting out your journey. Also, consider the writer, he must know where he's heading before putting ink on paper. The journey of life is similar, we ought to know where we are heading before embarking on the journey.

Today's society has put many of us under pressure. We now live life competing with each other. We want to be better than the man living next door. This has robbed us of happiness even if we have those things we are competing for. It is a problem that many can't get out of. They become insatiable and make many foes along the way. The reason for this baseless competition is because many people don't know where they are heading to in life. If you don't know where you are going to, every road looks the right road.

There are so many things we can talk about in this subject, but let me stop here to make it easier for comprehension.

It is unwise to start a journey without a destination in mind. The same thing applies to life. You must know the difference between knowing and doing. If you don't know the destination, how can you ever get there? How will you tell you have reached there? What about if you never reach anywhere?
Just think about it!
