My Journey as a Blockchain Entrepreneur: Lessons Learned and Challenges Faced

In life, we learn everyday, sometimes through challenging experiences though not our own faults. Join me as I recount my journey as a blockchain entrepreneur in this engaging blog post. From entering the blockchain world to taking bold steps into the unknown, I'll share the highs and lows of my experiences. Along the way, you'll gain insights into the opportunities and pitfalls that await those venturing into entrepreneurship in the blockchain space.

I have written this in bits and pieces in several articles published on other blogging platforms I have used before coming to Hive. And here, I have decided to put them together albeit in a summary.

My Entrance into the Blockchain World

For over three years I have been in the blockchain space as a blogger, I have had the opportunity to meet with project owners in the Defi space and equipped myself with vital knowledge of this great technology and the inherent opportunities in the space.

Within those years, I helped in promoting several blockchain projects with my content for a fee or other rewards like NFTs and digital currencies. This opportunity helped me to learn about the background and working dynamics of most of the projects and helped me to build a relationship with several project owners.

A Bold Step into the Unknown Blockchain World

Inspired by my growing connections and expertise in promoting Blockchain projects together with the knowledge I have gained in the space, I embarked on a new venture—an NFT project. Although lacking technical know-how, I sought partners who shared my vision. Together, we assembled a team consisting of an NFT artist and a developer. Capitalizing on my experience in promotional content creation, I took on the role of promoter and project manager. The artist produced captivating original artwork, while the developer built the necessary contracts, minting website, and related software.

The Thrill and the Twist

With two weeks of intense promotion across blockchain social media and Telegram communities, our NFT project came to life. Within a short period, all 2,500 NFT collections were sold out. The success was exhilarating, but it was short-lived due to a disagreement among the partners. Arguments over revenue distribution resulted in my partners claiming ownership of the project and ousting me. As I departed, the project met its demise, leaving investors disappointed and the Telegram community without a manager.

A Second Chance, but Another Setback

Despite the previous setback, I was offered the opportunity to take over an abandoned NFT project. Excited, yet acknowledging my limitations, I sought partnership once again. A couple experienced in the NFT business agreed to help me revive the project. Contracts, websites, and other essential software were created, and plans were set in motion. This couple of devs were faithful to their words. They promised that they would not interfere with the project except when their services were required. The financial agreement was that they will have one-third of the total sales revenue of the 7500 NFT collection.

However, tragedy struck when my wallet got hacked, and all my crypto assets were stolen. Emotionally and financially drained, my motivation waned, and the project remained stagnant.

The End of the Road

On top of personal hardships, the EVM chain hosting the project encountered major issues, causing a mass exodus of users. If you have been on any Bitcoin Cash Community group, you must have heard about the smartBCH chain and the rugged bridge orchestrated by Coinflex two years ago.

Though the NFT contracts and websites were multi-chain compatible, I lacked the energy and resources to migrate the project to a more active community. The combination of the wallet hack and the declining EVM chain marked the end of this chapter in my blockchain journey.

Today, all that remains in this adventure are a telegram group with over 700 members, and the NFT art and contracts which are in the care of the developers. The devs have been calling on me to send them a wallet address to transfer the contracts, NFTs, and hand over the website login details. My resolution now is to find someone who I can hand over the project, either for a share of the sales revenue or a buy-over for a small amount.

Conclusion

My journey as a blockchain entrepreneur has been an extraordinary rollercoaster of emotions and experiences. Through both triumphs and setbacks, I have come out with a wealth of knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the blockchain decentralized finance space. While my path may have been filled with obstacles, I remain determined to continue exploring new opportunities and contributing to the exciting world of blockchain technology.

The bottom line of this adventure is that I left the NFT community to seek another start on the Hive blogging platform because the thrill of running a blockchain business of my own is completely gone.

I hope you have learned one or two things from my Blockchain entrepreneurial journey.
