An Alternate Solution To The Economy

It’s no longer news that many countries are experiencing hyperinflation, and people are all coming up with different ways to survive the hard times and failing economies. Today, I’ll be sharing with you some of the alternate solutions that people have created to help them battle this inflation.

Desperate time requires desperate measures, and these are some of the measures some people employ.

Street food vendors vs. restaurants

There are many people who like eating in restaurants or eateries because they believe the food there is richly made and affordable, but after the inflation, things became expensive, and people couldn’t afford the lifestyle they were living before, so they opted for street food.

The truth is that not all street food vendors are bad; many of them keep the store clean and have good hygiene. Although a big restaurant and a street food vendor can’t be compared, people have no choice but to opt for the street food vendor as an alternative.

I have seen men in suits eating street food before going to the office; this is very common in Lagos State. For you to survive the economy, you have to think outside the box and work with your monthly pay.

Local Market vs. Shopping Mall

I’m one of the people who usually believes that buying things at the mall is cheaper than at the local market, but not until I started going to the local market myself to get my food stuff. Although there are things I prefer to get at the mall than from the local market, like bread, toiletries, and some cooking utensils, most uncooked items are gotten from the local market.


These are some pictures I took when I went to the market to get some food items to prepare dinner. Getting these food items at the shopping mall always requires extra cash, and spending extra has never put a smile on my face. I’ve noticed some extra amount that is always added to the real price. Probably there is a place where they get their money to run their business, but the local market is a preferable alternative for getting my food items.

In conclusion.

We are facing a lot of hard times since the pandemic, and many countries haven’t recovered from it. With the dying economy, we have to find an alternative way to cope with hyperinflation.
