A Better Hive With Few Touches

As a product designer, I have used different Hive DApp and I can tell that each of them have their own uniqueness but today, I’m not here to talk about their uniqueness but to state some unique features or developments that can be added to the Hive ecosystem which can improve its User interface and design.

First off, I would like to say a big kudos to the each DApp developers, it’s not easy creating and designing. Both the frontend and backend developers have done a great job.

Now here are my thoughts, since we all know the hive logo looks like this

I’ve checked all DApp logo and non of them carry an indicator that shows they belong to the hive ecosystem. I’m sure all developers prefer having their own design to be know and they want it to be different from others but an outsider won’t know the different if they are asked to identify a DApp on another platform. I believe the hive logo should somehow be integrated into the Logos of every hive dapp.

Going on play store to download an app that belongs to hive, after typing the name of the app, you would see all different kind of app with the same name but if all the Dapp have a unique sign that will be on all their logo, I believe it will make us more unified. #inleo #ecency #actifit #dbuzz #peakd #3speak #liketu and more.

Another feature I have always look out for is the reputation feature. At least peakd shows you the percentage of your reputation when you are on your profile and you click on it. I believe it can be improved on all hive frontend. Since peakd can show the percentage of your reputation, there should be a feature where you can see the development of your reputation. Just like how #ecency shows you your voting mana or Resources Credit, then there should be a space for reputation

this would go a long way to help boost the morale of users to want to do more. Just like the social media App (2go) which was one of the earliest chatting social platforms. They add a reputation system to their social platform and this made user want to stay online on that platform 24/7.

Another feature I would add to the hive ecosystem system to improve is it is a chatting feature. I mean, who wouldn’t want to communicate with their newly found friend on the blockchain. People would always want to come online to see if their friend have dropped them a message.

As we all know, everything that has an advantage will also have its own disadvantages and I don’t think hive was created to be a chatting social platform but a platform where people can post their content and earn from it. Well, we can work something out with the chatting feature where by the more you use the platform to chat, the more you earn point. Also, it will be in a way that every DApp has this feature where you can send a direct message to a friend and it will indicate the DApp in which your friend is currently engaging you with.

In conclusion

There are many other features that can improve the hive ecosystem system apart from the design. The UX is also one of the thing that will make the ecosystem attractive. All frontend developers mainly put effort in this area because the more attractive it is, the more users want to use it.
