Geography in no longer a factor for crypto usage. People can always use VPNs to mask where they are although IPV6 tells sites a bit more about you than you would want then to know. Still, peer to peer usage of coins and tokens cannot be banned. People need to trade coins for cash in person instead of using companies that must report to governments.

The world, Canada especially, is getting more authoritarian. I cannot believe that they froze thousands of people's bank accounts because they peacefully protested in Ottawa. What next?

Sure VPN can be used, but the problem is why do we need to? It speaks of a more serious systemic issue, just like you're saying about countries becoming more authoritarian.

I also think there can be some issues with some sites, especially a CEX. That usually require a KYC.
