When I saw this prompt for this week, I thought about passing it but on second thought, I decided that there is no harm in writing about this topic as someone who has made her mistakes, she had grabbed it with both hands when the opportunity was there back then and done better when she had enough time.

I would say Hive is a beautiful place to be and a place for everyone who wishes their voices could be heard and read while they earn income, a place where there is no discrimination and where your time and resources are worth spending there and on.

Guide a newbie to set a better Hive goal... Share your own three important tips a newbie on Hive should know as they start the coming new year.

I know that everyone is looking for ways I earn a little income to add up to what he or she had, so one of the motivations that would have prompted us to take up the deal of writing was because we heard that our writing was going to be monetized unlike the other social media when we only get to burn our data without getting paid for it but then, one beautiful thing that would stand one out on Hive is;

  • Being Original: I know it is going to be hard along the way when you get to have writer's block, during those times don't force yourself, take a break if you have to but don't stop being original, creative, dynamic, unique, and having your own style different from others is going to make a whole lot of difference as a newbie because you are going to be easily noticed. Don't plagiarise, I know most of our content is written based on our day-to-day life or probably what we saw or read on the internet, it's fine but don't be in a hurry to "copy and paste", take your time, read, digest and at the end of the day, coin out your own words from that sentence and make a beautiful post out of it.

  • Set Goals: It could be weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, or yearly, however you wish can work for you and you wouldn't need to forget your offline life or stress your brain too much so it doesn't get to affect you, please do. You could get a partner, we you can be accountable. Fortunately, we have the newbie initiative that brings all newbies together, so getting to find someone who could help you while you help them grow on Hive positively would go a long way. Maybe a reminder from that person,

Set goals that involve how many posts you intend to make daily, weekly, or monthly and your plans on how to achieve a particular Hive power goal or maybe an HBD goal. But whatever the plan is, setting goals and having someone of the same energy call you out for that, would go a long way toward building a better Hive Goal.

  • Engagement: No, not the engagement ring, you are thinking about, but engaging in as many community contests as possible, that will help people of both your rank and a higher rank notice you, engage in other people's posts, try as much as possible to make quality and meaningful comments. Don't be in a hurry to leave 10 different unnecessary and irrelevant comments on posts because you had set your goal of making 10 comments a day, it does not count.

Read, digest, and write what you understand, a meaningful comment, will get a meaningful reply and get noticed by others. Always attend to your comments, don't be in a rush to reach your post for the day, and create time to reply to every comment on your post, maybe not that same day if you do not have the time but always reply to the comment on your post.

Extra Tip: Hive requires a lot of hard work, time, and patience, so be ready to be patient, be ready to engage, be ready to try out other communities, and read the rules of a community before making a post there, always source your images rightly. Focus on your growth and progress and trust the process. It's going to take a lot of time and effort to build it but it is worth doing. I mean what is worth doing is worth doing well.

I believe that you have spoken from your experience on the blockchain. All these are vital tips and it took me quite a lot of time before I learned this lesson.

Engagement is a powerful tool that unlocks a lot of huge opportunities on the blockchain. Thanks for participating in the Hive Naija weekly prompt.

I found writing on hive very interesting because hive is too original, it doesn't give room for lies, like you said most of the posts here are about our day to day experience, it makes it very easy for one to have something to write about no matter what.

Plagiarism, use of Ai are some of the most frown upon offences on hive anyone newbie who falls victim of this, might not last so much on the chain talk more of achieving any goal.

Hmm!! Engagement is one of the fastest ways to grow on hive. It's better to drop five good comments than drop 20 short and unreasonable ones, it spoils ones reputation.
