Your Mom sounds like such a wonderful woman and Mother. I'm sorry she had to endure the hardships and the violence. It's so great that your Mom influenced you positively and you didn't continue the cycle. You seem like an very kind, empathetic individual.

My Dad had a horrible temper in his younger years but mellowed with age. No one ever taught him to process his negative emotions so anger would build up and then he would lash out. He never hit my Mom or us but he would break things and wouldn't speak to us sometimes for days on end. That had an impact on us.

I really appreciate you taking part in this. It was great to learn about your Mom!

My father had an illness, he suffered from jealousy, and that's what led him to do what he did. I don't think he had anyone to help him manage his emotions either.
I think Mom gave him enough time to change, but since she didn't, she had no choice but to make that decision and he was very brave to do so.

Thank you very much dear friend @ericvancewalton for the great support you always give me

My father was the jealous type too but he never physically hit my Mom. Your Mom was very brave, that couldn't have been an easy decision back then.

You're welcome and I appreciate you joining Memoir Monday again!
