my monomad entry: details from the park

(Edited)

here are some rusty details from the old naval base that is now a popular seaside park.

the sign says 'KEEP OFF THE GRASS' but it only applies to a small section by the canal bridge.

just on the other side of the bridge there is an old ship's crane that was used for loading and unloading boats on the canal

though the picturesque crane is superficially rusty it is actually well-maintained but has not been in use for decades

the wharf buildings have lots of nice simple hardware from a bygone era

edit: by accident a few photos that had been previously posted were included in this post. i removed them as soon as i realized what i had done

A very interesting photo set. I like the cropping in the photos of the door :)

thanks a lot. the park is a great place for photos. it is closeby so i go there often and each time there is something i hadn't focused on before

thanks a lot for the great feedback. that ship's crane is an awesome photo shoot when the light is right. i have featured it previously but not in black and white. for most of these shots i edited in some highlight and reduced the exposure to enhance texture. edit: i had forgotten i had posted four of these shots in a post some months ago. they are now removed

I’m not surprised by what I’m seeing here because an old naval base is surely going to have all of these
I love all the pictures
They are beautiful
