on the salt flats

back in April of this year i posted a few shots from the salt flats in Shiroda, Maharashtra in the reflections contest of shadow hunters. here are a few more from that same evening just before sunset.

it's not far from our house so we will go back there again. i plan to have another photo shoot there, giving a more complete perspective of the place and making a post about the entire operation.

it's hot out there in the early afternoon so the workers take a siesta and work until after sunset.

the reflections of the women are not mirror sharp, they become indistinguishable as individuals. in a way this is a reflection of their staus in society, being rather low.

but i find their beauty in the setting to be exceptional
