an unusual visit to the flour mill

today my entry for the #monomad challenge is from the local flour mill which has been in operation for decades but yesterday was only open for dropping off grains to be milled in the late afternoon

it had not been open for some days due to sickness but today i was able to stop in and take some shots alone.

normally the place is either full of activity and noise or closed. so it was a special occasion to witness the serene atmosphere in the dim light

the different mills are for different grains, dals and spices. when still they take on a completely different character

an unexpected placidity, slightly dreamy in the low light

and with an allure that comes with age
