Sid Vicious, The Sex Pistols and Punk and my Rising Star Report 8/11/2023
I am a huge fan of the punk band The Sex Pistols. Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious made this band legendary, and the sound is incredibly singular. The Sex Pistols laid the groundwork for punk, and helped establish popular punk bands (pop punk) including Blink 182 that solidified the genre.
The punk album Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols is amazing, and it’s one of my favorite punk albums. Anarchy in the UK is an anthem, and every track in Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols is memorable. This was released in 1977 as the movement was gaining traction, and the Sex Pistols led by Vicious and Rotten helped to inspire more punk bands across the globe. Punk took hold in Britain in the 1970s, and grew in the 1980s. So many punk bands evolved from this era including Social Distortion and Rancid that gave birth to more mainstream “pop punk” bands that became popular in the later 1990s including Good Charlotte and Less than Jake. The crossover pop punk/alternative band that became the most mainstream was Blink 182 in the mid-1990s, which propelled punk rock to the next generation.
My Rising Star Report 8/11/2023:
I need to get an adequate guitar NFT to move on to the Gig Circuit. I have been playing a daily Saturday Headliner mission, and have been moderating my ego percentage to keep my Starbit claim. I purchased approximately 40-NFT cards yesterday, and have been deciding which cards to keep and which to auction.
I plan on continuing to use these post rewards to purchase Starbits to purchase in-game NFTs. This has been a great experience, and I appreciate your support.
