De La Soul- A Founding Member of the East Coast Hip Hop Style and my Risingstar Report 11/6/2023

De La Soul is a Hip Hop trio that was founded on the East Coast in 1988 with their own soulful sound. De La Soul collaborated with other artists with a similar jazzy sound including A Tribe Called Quest and helped attract an even wider audience to Hip Hop during the late 1980s and early 1990s at a critical time in the art's adoption.

Three Feet High and Rising was the 1989 release from De La Soul. If you have heard their song "Me Myself and I", you know how popular their music was and is. De La Soul's sound resonated with millions, and artists from the West Coast adopted some of their flavor. Del the Funky Homosapien and even 2Short adopted some of the funky beats and socially conscious flavor into their sound which helped spread the art of Hip Hop to lovers of Jazz and alternative music. This market was largely untapped at the time.

De La Soul has a unique and soulful sound. Their music is almost exclusively socially conscious and they are similar to A Tribe Called Quest. Unlike many of the early Hip Hop groups from the East Coast, they were focused on peaceful lyrics and less aggressive delivery. The Boom Bap style that artists including KRS-1 and BDP employed were not used by De La Soul, and their sound is almost immediately evident to the listener.

De La Soul's music has been described as "alternative" Hip Hop, and has a unique quality to it. The trio grew up outside of New York City, and were close enough to the city to be exposed to the growing art of Hip Hop while being far enough away to create their own unique sound. As a fan of De La Soul's timeless music, I know we owe a debt of gratitude to the trio for their contributions to the art as it was gaining traction. Many were drawn to their poetic style as aggressive artists dominated the scene.

My Risingstar Report 11/6/2023:

I am working my way to level 40, and my strategy remains relatively unchanged. I aim on completing two missions and one lesson per cycle to earn Starbits while pushing my income higher. This cadence seems to be slowly pushing my income from the game higher. This is my goal.

Ego is a persistent issue on Risingstar. I need to make sure to keep pushing this down by taking music lessons, which also provide XP to gain more levels as well. I need to keep purchasing NFT cards and adding to record staking to make.my Starbits income rise to an acceptable level for my growth.

I do have a strategy I am working. I have recently purchased 200+ DVS tokens and have staked them for more vote income. I plan on taking some of this income and buying gaming tokens with it. The more Starbits this generates, the more income the Starbits faucet will provide.

Good luck and have an awesome evening. Rock on!
