Looks like the #BTC fees are getting out of hand again. That's about $33.33... ...

... Hefty for smaller #DCA retail investors. Thanks #Coinbase!

I'm basically a giant fan of it. The more those fees rise, the fast we progress towards the most realistic sustainable future of Bitcoin. High price, high friction, high security, transparent and public. The other use cases will be up to the greater Crypto market to populate.

The fees are only a problem for small transfers, while they still suck, it becomes minimial when you only use it for large transfers. It does present a huge hurdle for mainstream adoption though.

Well, I usually only get a few hundred dollars worth, so it’s quite a bit.

yeah that will wreck your ROI.
It will probably be better to reduce your DCA events, if you are buying weekly, buy monthly, if you are buying monthly buy quarterly. Not ideal, but at those buy in volumes, the fee will absolutely destroy your return.

Yeah, I might turn it into a quarterly event so I can drop $1K+ on it.

less frequent and higher transfers will be a massive boost to your ROI because you were literally losing like 30% of your investment or something.

That's an exorbitant amount for fees. The people that will suffer most are people that do small transfers on the blockchain. I think large transfers can handle that easily. I hope it comes down anytime soon.

This is a very high fee for so many dollars, how many days do people spend their lives here.

As long as you hold it, it doesn't any matter.
Today it's a symmetrical number, tomorrow everything can change.

I’ll just withdraw a bigger batch.

That's a solution too, but I'm only escrowing for now. If it seems expensive to me, I'm willing to wait a couple days. Sometimes even the exchange rate made the deal more favorable, not just the size of the commission.
Those who have some kind of business tied up in it and need to make a transaction here and now suffer more here.
