Amazing and colorful experience with culture – My market Friday Experience

Greetings to the amazing people of this great community, I fell so excited to be a member of this community, I have seen the amazing work done by active members of this great community and I have decided to be a part of this great and amazing experience.

I am a missionary sent to afaha nsit community in Nsit Ibom Local Government in Akwa Ibom State, I have enjoyed my stay here for the past few months and its full of memories. The environment is more of rural occupant but then the presence of an institution is bringing in young people who are here to study, their presence is contributing greatly to the growth and development of the community.

This community comprises of about thirteen villages but has just his one market, the afaha nsit market is located just opposite the Akwa Ibom State collage of education, he market is sold officially once a week, but mini sales are done on other days. The official days of the market are often very unique because of the presence of business persons who will come from other locations to make sales and as well buy.

The official day of the market was on Saturday last week, my location from the market is like hour 30 minute journey, due to the bad road network from the remote area to the market,

Here i had to buy some meat and other stuff, to make myself a good meals, you can see other fellow standing waiting to also buy from the same person. it was shocking that things were very costly at the market but i was able to fine every necessary item i was looking for.

The market on normal occasions are often full of people, with heavy business activities, but luckily for me, the market was very scanty when I arrived, so I had to ask a few questions as to know why the market is so scanty, I was told that business owners are not coming that day reasons being that the students have gone on vacation in view of the festive season and as such the marketer are afraid that there will no sales so they had to stay back, but am sure that by next week Monday which is the next official market day, it will be full and active, am hoping I will be able to journey back to the market.

Even when the market was scanty, there was still sales ongoing, through the pictures you will be able to see the few areas that I was able to touch, I also noticed that when the women see you with smart phone taking pictures, It can become an issue so I had trade with wisdom, so the picture of the market could not be full because of the challenge but when next I go, I will do better. Welcome to the afaha nsit market.
