MY LITTLE SEDER CUP 925 - UNSTACKABLESTACKABLES!
In looking through my silver, I was looking for something different and in my UNSTACKABLESTACKABLES, I came across this sterling silver Seder Cup.
This is a small sterling silver Seder Cup, used in the celebration of Passover. The Passover Feast is held all over the world on the evening of the 14th day of Nisan in the Hebrew calendar. Passover falls in late March or in April of the Gregorian calendar. This year (2020) Passover begins on April 8th. It lasts for 7 days in Israel and 8 days everywhere else.
The Seder is the observed on the first night of Passover and there can be a second one on the second night depending on the community. The Seder includes the telling of the Exodus from Egypt, discussion of it, drinking 4 cups of wine, eating matzo and partaking of various foods placed on the Seder Plate.
The Seder Cup I have would have been used in the Passover Feast in the wine portion of the celebration. I have personally been to one Seder celebration of Passover and it was something I’ll never forget. However, we had grape juice instead of wine (host’s preference). I have had wine out of this cup and if you’ve never had wine in sterling silver - well, you need to. Silver conducts cold (and hot) very well, and it makes the wine all that more refreshing. If you are in doubt of a cup being sterling silver, a good test is to drop an ice cube into it. It will immediately and rapidly begin to melt as it transfers the cold from the ice cube to the silver.
This little cup weighs in at .97 Troy ounce and has a very ornate flowery scroll
around the entire upper portion of the cup that is also visible from the inside.
It is stamped 925 at the underneath side of the base of the stem.
A very nice addition to my UNSTACKABLESTACKABLES and a useful investment!

According to the Bible, Is it sin against God if a law enforcer is forced to take someone's life in the line of duty?

Another beautiful unstackablestackable! Thanks for the background information on Seder Cup. It is ornately engraved. WOW... that must be a light cup to weight less than 1 troy ounce! So very pretty. I must get one to drink my Pinot Noir from, as you suggested, LOL!
