Recycling of my gown into a top and duster

Recycling is a very important practice for making our environment neater and less wasteful. In the aspect of clothing, it helps to prolong their lifecycle and makes it useful for other needs.

When I was in Secondary school I knew about recycling but I didn't put it to use, I guess if I saw more practical about it I would have learnt more and know how relevant it is. The moment I am tired of wearing a certain cloth, I see no use of it I just burn it especially when I feel the style might not be desirable to someone else if I give it out, but now I realize I can change styles and be less wasteful.

I made a gown early this year, although it was fitted then but I was still able to use it,last month I tried to wear it and it was so tight that I couldn't wear it, I felt so disappointed, I left it for a while until I decided on what to do about it, so I thought of what to do, I concluded that I will recycle it into a top. In the process of recycling clothes you might end up loving it more than the original one.

Here is how I made it

Procedure

The front and back bodice was the first thing I measured out making use of the following measurement
Burst-34
Waist-26.

I didn't need the hip measurement since the top didn't exceed my half length. I left the zip measurement then I cut it. After which I cut the sleeve making use of my armhole: 7 and half inch, round sleeve:10 inches the length was not too long , not reaching the elbow.

I really don't want to waste any material, so I made it into a duster for my sister who is a teacher.
A duster is useful in the classroom for cleaning the board.
