PROMPT:
Do you prefer to have minimal dishware, or keep enough for large gatherings on hand? What impacts this decision for you?

African mothers and their wares are 5 and 6, an African mother can beat you black and blue all because of a plate that you mistakenly broke out of the thousands of plates she still has locked up in the store and even in use. It is how they will amass these wares and take out their precious time to mark every ware in their home with a particular initials to be known for but wouldn't do the same for their wrappers.

As for my mom, even up until now that she has enough stored up in a particular cooler I am quite sure that even in five years to come, she won't use them, and she still won't release them for us to use in the house even when we have limited in the plate racks.

I mean, we both usually end up arguing over rushed things because I don't seem to understand why someone would prefer to stack plates away for a one-day occasion that may or may not happen. Moreover, the world is revolving, so why does she ever think that when that period or occasion she is keeping those plates or kitchen wares arrives, anyone would want to use such wares that period, I mean new things evoke every day, so we would want to try out new things too.

In her words, "She is keeping them for the day I and my sibling will be getting married" But then I asked her "How sure are you that I would want to use all these old stuffs during my wedding day or that of my sibling"? When there are many new things to evoke, why keep them now for something we both are not sure of when it will happen and if we would want to use them during that occasion?

Well, the war between the both of us about too many kitchen wares and the worst part is not using them, just storing them all for the big day is still going on, and maybe just maybe she has won because we are still making use of the few of them she has allowed us to make use of but without a warning to us not to break them. Lol

Left for me, I think I would prefer to have minimal dishware because I can not understand why we end up having too much dishware lying around carelessly everywhere and the worst part is that we may not get to use them in years to come, and someone like me who does not like to have her space clumped up with too many things she may not need until a desired occasion, I am beginning to think of what to do to remove some of them but my mum would end up knowing that a particular dish is missing even amid this many dishes lying around carelessly, how she does it, is what I don't know.

Too many dishes create room for having too many dirty dishes for one to wash, especially when we are all together, we would all eat and be looking for who would do the dishes and if no one volunteers to do it, we would not bother about washing the dishes for that day until my mom begins shouting and nagging about how we have dirty dishes in the house but I guess that if that dishware were minimal, it wouldn't have been a problem because it would have been in our conscious mind that it is "You wash your place after eating so that you will have something to use in eating the next meal".

This thing with our mothers and dishware is quite hilarious.

My mom's dishware was kept safely on top of the shelf, I used to think she worshipped the plates😂😂😂

Haha. They won’t be throw away.

I mean what is the point of storing away plates that you won’t in the next few years. I see your point.

When you start building your family. I am sure you will be minimal.
