Many countries have been moving towards the implementation of the so-called Central Bank Digital Currency, or simply CBDC, others have resisted like the United States that claim to be a risk to the privacy of all American citizens and destruction of the private sector (the Banks), since everything will be centralized in the hands of the Central Bank, so what would be the function of the banks?
In Brazil, DREX has been in the testing phase since the beginning of the year, but it is expected to be functional by the end of 2024. And the first people to use this new currency will be those who receive government aid. They will be forced to receive their grants in DREX, as they are the ones who create the biggest barrier for new technology.
According to the Central Bank of Brazil, DREX works on the Hyperledger Besu network, which is a permissioned network, that is, unlike $BTC or most cryptocurrencies where we can analyze transactions publicly, DREX will be private or centralized in the Central Bank.
Hyperledger Besu is a network created under the Ethereum network, that is, it allows the use of smart contracts. With this comes numerous possibilities that already exist in the Blockchain to be implemented using DREX.
DREX will literally be a stablecoin backed by the Real, Brazilian currency, in the 1: 1 ratio. In the future there will be no more physical currency only digital currency, so the government will know how each citizen spends their money.
Currently, in Brazil there is a lot of informality, especially in the most peripheral regions. People set up their businesses without any registration in the city, so the taxes due for products and services provided are not collected.
So, with the implementation of digital currency this changes, because the government will have all the power to supervise and control where the money is going and automatically charge its share. It is a great power in the hands of the Central Bank and Government.
When this system is functional the government can simply, through a smart contract, put validity on its bank balance forcing the population to spend their reserves in order to heat up the country's economy. A measure that has already been adopted by China, with its CBDC called e-CNY.
Or he can simply ban people from buying $BTC or anything that is a threat to the state. My account may sound like conspiracy theory, but this is easily programmable in the source code of DREX, which uses smart contract.
At first, with the implementation of DREX, nothing will change for people. Only for the wholesale financial system (Central Bank and the Banks), for people it will remain the same. But, with the power that the State will have in its hands, it can do whatever it wants with each citizen's money.
The future is scary, little by little we are losing freedom of expression and now the era begins to lose financial freedom as well. It is true that there are good applications for society, but it all depends on how the technology will be used, for good or for evil. Who will decide will be the Government of the time!

Muitos países têm caminhado para implementação das chamadas Central Bank Digital Currency, ou simplesmente CBDC, outros tem resistido como os Estados Unidos que alegam ser um risco a privacidade de todos os cidadãos Americanos e destruição do setor privado (os Bancos), uma vez que tudo ficará centralizada nas mãos do Banco Central, então qual seria a função dos bancos?
No Brasil o DREX está em fase de teste desde o começo do ano, mas a expectativa é que ele esteja funcional até o fim de 2024. E as primeiras pessoas a utilizar essa nova moeda serão as que recebem auxilios do Governo. Serão forçadas a receber suas bolsas em DREX, pois são justamente elas que criam a maior barreira para novas tecnologia.
Segundo, o Banco Central do Brasil o DREX funciona na rede Hyperledger Besu, que é uma rede permissionada, ou seja, diferente do $BTC ou da maioria das criptomoedas onde podemos analisar as transações publicamente, o DREX será privada ou centralizada no Banco Central.
A Hyperledger Besu é um rede criada sob a rede da Ethereum, ou seja, permite a utilização de contratos inteligentes. Com isso surge inúmeras possibilidades que já existem na Blockchain a serem implementados utilizando o DREX.
O DREX literalmente será uma stablecoin lastreada no Real, moeda brasileira, na razão 1:1. No futuro não haverá mais moeda física somente a moeda digital, dessa forma o governo vai saber como cada cidadão gastar seu dinheiro.
Atualmente, no Brasil existe muita informalidade, principalmente nas regiões mais perifericas. As pessoas montam seus comercios sem nenhum registro na perfeitura, com isso não são recolhidos os impostos devidos, por produtos e serviços prestados.
Então, com a implementação da moeda digital isso muda, pois o governo terá todo o poder de fiscalizar e controlar para onde o dinheiro esta indo e automaticamente cobrar a parte dele. É um grande poder nas mãos do Banco Central e Governo.
Quando este sistema estiver funcional o governo pode simplesmente, através de um contrato inteligente, colocar válidade em seu saldo bancário forçando com que a população gaste suas reservas, a fim de aquecer a economia do país. Medida que já foi adotada pela china, com sua CBDC chamado e-CNY.
Ou simplemente ele pode proibir que pessoas comprem $BTC ou quaisquer coisa que sejam uma ameça ao Estado. Meu relato pode parecer teoria da conspiração, mas isso é facilmente programavél no código fonte do DREX, que utiliza contrato inteligente.
Em um primeiro momento, com a implementação do DREX, nada mudará para pessoas. Somente para o sistema financeira do atacado (Banco Central e os Bancos), para as pessoas continuará da mesma forma. Mas, com o poder que o Estado terá nas mãos ele pode fazer o que bem entender com dinheiro de cada cidadão.
O Futuro é assustador, aos poucos estamos perdendo a liberdade de expressão e agora começa a era para perder também a liberdade financeira. É certo que existem aplicações boa para sociedade, mas tudo depende de como a tecnologia será usada, para o bem ou para o mal. Quem decidirá será o Governo da vez!

Eu também estou muito receioso com tudo isso! No inicio vai ser tudo as mil maravilhas, mas depois que o sistema estiver enraizado na população certamente o governo implementará medidas para facilmente se beneficiar.
