Cereal Leaf Beetle

The cereal leaf beetle (Oulema melanopus) is a significant crop pest, described by Carl Linnaeus in 1758.. I met this little guy again, I think I saw it sometime last year, and I also made a post about it as well.

But this time I took it with a different gear, and also at a different location, but I was still fascinated by its appearance. Because this little insect is very beautiful, well, despite the huge problem it caused for the human crops.

Yes just like its names suggest, this little insect is a big-time pest for the grain crops that are usually planted by the farmers, and become the main food for most of the people.

But as I mentioned I am really attracted by its appearance, with its metallic black body, and bright orange on its head and on its leg, this is an insect that I would not miss to photograph when I have time and chance to photograph it. as you know sometimes it is quite hard to get a macro photo of the insect because of its skittish nature, and will most likely will flee whenever I try to get close to it.

Yes, very much so. There's so much more in this world and so awesome that we get to see some of them.
