What are EDSD tokens?

EDSD @eds-d are the last to be released token from @eddie-earner because now all 500k EDS are allocated. Some will be aware that I have been itching to release an HBD-backed token for EDS for a long time but I could never think of a good model. I was thinking how can EDSD compete with the 20% APY being offered for saving HBD currently? This was the wrong way of thinking, let me explain.

I am aware that there is a demand for EDS tokens because they have a small mintage and pay out a handsome HIVE income equal to over 25% APY. We seen from @eds-vote that investors were happy to split rewards and receive 50% of the curation rewards as EDS with the other 50% being powered up to @eddie-earner which increases the EDS HIVE income pool. Win/win. EDSD is based on this model.

EDSD tokens are equal to a HBD Bond that you buy, hold a long time, get a yield and when you want your HBD back, you convert your EDSD back into HBD. All HBD collected from issuing EDSD is added to the @eds-d saving wallet. 100% of the interest earned is converted to HIVE with 50% used to mint and issue EDS at the value of 1 HIVE each to EDSD token holders and the remaining 50% being powered up to @eddie-earner. Basically, 100% is powered up and we issue EDS rewards on half the amount powered up.

After you exit, assuming you stacked your EDS, you will have an HIVE income for life or at least as long as mine, (38). The longer and more EDSD you hold, the more EDS you will get and the higher your HIVE income will be. Pretty simple, buy it and forget about it. EDSD will not last forever as they have a set amount of EDS allocated to them and when the allocation is done, EDSD will either wrap up or introduce another reward. We're talking a few years, not a few months.

Week 10s Update

Get ready to embark on another rollercoaster ride through the wild and wonderful world of EDSD with our Weekly Report. This edition is juicier than a pineapple at a tropical crypto party, price shenanigans, and tech breakthroughs that even Elon would raise an eyebrow at. Let's get into it.

image.png

Back to growth this week as we get back on the track to 5000 HBD. In a few years time, it would amazing to see EDSD as one of the biggest HBD wallets on the blockchain. I think its around 10k to be top 100 but in 2 years time, im sure we'll need lots more.

The HBD balance size is not really important for EDSD token holders but for @eddie-earner, the higher the better. Only takes 3 days to withdraw HBD, just saying... EDS are limited edition to 500k, just a reminder.

The price of HIVE increased by 6% this week and the HBD interest payment increased by around the same amount so the HBD interest payment (blue line) up, after converted to HIVE (red line), same.

EDSD is a dollar-based investment and its yield reflects that. If HIVE continues to pump, we get less HIVE for our HBD each week. The plus side is, that the EDS you mint from EDSD follows HIVE's price so if you think the price of HIVE will continue to increase, all the EDS you mint will increase in $ value as well.

As an example, We say HIVE will do 5x and hit $2 within the next 18 months. Your currently earning a 10% APY from EDSD rewarded as EDS which is pegged to HIVE. If you mint 10 EDS worth $4 today and hold them to get the weekly EDS HIVE income payment, by the time HIVE is hitting $2, those same 10 EDS would be worth $20. Your yield from earning EDS bear market/early to mid bullrun and holding them until HIVE is mooning is much higher than earning 20% from saving HBD (if you sell your EDS when HIVE is mooning and convert the HIVE to HBDEDSD) to get the profit.

I dont want people to think that seeing we are getting less HIVE is a bad thing. There are both pluses and negatives to the ratio increasing and decreasing.

Our HBD interest payment is about the same as last week so the amount of EDS we mint and about the same also. It is still small potatoes and I understand people dont wanna give up their HBD in big amounts. I manually transfer all the HBD to the savings wallet and i see that everyday. People are saving EDSD with recurring payments for small amount each day or week.

… 50% used to mint and issue EDS at the value of 1 HIVE each to EDSD token holders…

Proportional to how many EDSD held by each token holder?
