EDSvote update #42 | Another Week, Another 100 EDS Minted! 🥳🚀

Welcome all to this week's EDSvote update where we look at a range of different things. Please follow the @eddie-earner account to make sure all our reports are going into your feed and you can easily stay updated on your investment.

What is EDSvote?
Eds-vote is an account that people can delegate HIVE POWER to. In return for their delegation, they will receive EDS tokens each Monday.

The delegated HP will be used to curate content on HIVE and provide small upvotes for those that hold over 100 EDS tokens. Delegating HIVE POWER to @eds-vote will not result in an upvote. This is not a delegation to upvote service. It is a way to distribute the remaining reallocated EDS into circulation.

What are EDS tokens?
EDS tokens are HIVE income tokens that are pegged and backed to 1 HIVE each. They pay out weekly dividends every Monday based on 12% of the total powered-up HIVE balance of the @eddie-earner account. This is currently paying out an APY to token holders of roughly 35%.

Report #42

Let's have a look at the numbers in chart form as this is the best way to see performance and predict the future.

We've had a few weeks of solid incoming delegation growth and we are closing in on 140k again. I do see that since this chart was made 3 days ago we have lost around 3k in delegations and we're sitting at 129.5k at the time of writing. Dip weeks will happen, people pull back delegations for many valid reasons so it's just part of the game. We'll be at 150k in no time.

The curation reward APY this week was 7.99% is 1 hundredth of 1 percent off our target benchmark. The crypto gods sure do have an odd sense of humour, whatever keeps them entertained I guess.

Solid week at 8%. The voting power is on the rise again which is good, stronger votes 😎

Curations rewards in HP is down this week to 202 from 220 last week. This is the result of rebuilding the voting power, when we use under 1000% of voting power each day, we earn less curation rewards. Maybe 1 more week to get us to 95% and then I'll find the benchmark to use as close to 1000% per day.

In short, next weeks HP curation reward might be the same as this week, around 200 but from the week after, it could increase by 5-10% to 210-220. Remember more earned from curation, more EDS minted.

This week we minted 101.28 EDS which I am ok with. Minting over 100 a week is nice, would be sad to see it drop back into 2 digits again.

@eds-vote right now is hitting its minimum target for mintage. We can run eds-vote for as long as EDS miners are minting so you could say 19-20 more years. I dont want eds-vote to run that long, to be honest, but thats the maximum time it will run whether all allocated tokens are minted are not.

So, we're minting 100 a week, thats 5218 a year. We started with an allocation of 90k EDS and we've done 3091 already leaving 86,909 left. At this current rate, it'll take 16.7 years to mint all the EDS allocated to eds-vote.

We're in a good spot were eds-vote will wrap up before all EDS miner's rewards are issued. When miner rewards finish, we'll stop all everything else and code it up to 100% bebale to run on its own and still issue weekly incomes. Think in 20 years time, the tech we've have. Sheet, we might even beable to pay your weekly income directly into your bank account.

Round Up

It was an ok week, nothing special happened and we've lost a few K in incoming delegations the past few days but all good. The growth of incoming delegations is oddly consistent and amazing to see. Overall, our growth has been increasing so we're winning the long game.

Im just saying are taking in that we're on week 42 so there are only 10 more weeks until 1 year done. Damn, that went in pretty fast, we've all done really well and I hope everyone so far has been happy to get some EDS each week. If we could grow at 100k a year, we'd be whale curators in a few years.
