EDSvote update #21 | ALL TIME HIGHS! | Curation APY over 12%

Welcome all to this week's EDSvote update where we look at a range of different things. Please follow the @eddie-earner account to make sure all our reports are going into your feed and you can easily stay updated on your investment.

What is EDSvote?
Eds-vote is an account that people can delegate HIVE POWER to. In return for their delegation, they will receive EDS tokens each Monday.

The delegated HP will be used to curate content on HIVE and provide small upvotes for those that hold over 100 EDS tokens. Delegating HIVE POWER to @eds-vote will not result in an upvote. This is not a delegation to upvote service. It is a way to distribute the remaining reallocated EDS into circulation.

What are EDS tokens?
EDS tokens are HIVE income tokens that are pegged and backed to 1 HIVE each. They pay out weekly dividends every Monday based on 12% of the total powered-up HIVE balance of the @eddie-earner account. This is currently paying out an APY to token holders of roughly 35%.

Report #21

We've peaked this week in terms of rewards and EDS minted and it will be a little longer before we get back up to these heights again.

Let's have a look at the numbers in chart form as this is the best way to see performance and predict the future.

Big drop this week because the guy who was delegating 30k HP while on holiday has returned and is getting back to the grind. The good news is we can see that this week, week 21 is about 15k HP higher than it was on week 15 just before we got that 30k boost so we're still winning. Like I said last week, I think the 30k delegation encouraged others to either delegate are increase current delegations. We're still on the 100k by year-end target I guess!

Curation APY is through the roof! EDS were minted at 6.08%. This is because curation rewards are paid out 1 week behind the current HP balance. That means that this week's rewards were coming from 110k HP and the APY is high because we currently have 85k being delegated in (not sorry for the clickbait title). The reverse happened when we first got the 30k delegation and the APY dropped massively, as seen on week 16 (5.8%) Things will be back to normal for next week...i think.

This week's rewards were 195.86 HP and only 0.86 more than last week but a win is a win. I would take a guess and say next week's curation rewards will be ballpark 150 HP. 150.68 HP to be precise.

Oh yes, we minted a nice amount of EDS tokens this week. We were so close to 100 but ended up minting 97.93. Another time in the future maybe we can mint 100 EDS a week from EDS-vote. If i guess to earn 150 HP for next week, i would have to say that we'll mint around 75 EDS next week which is pretty much 4k per year 😁

Round Up

Pretty standard week with not alot happening. I changed the upvoting amounts as the voting power was dropping cause more people were delegating to @eds-vote to get EDS tokens.

At this current amount we have delegated in, we will be able to start a 150 HIVE per week powerdown in 10-11 weeks' time. These power-downs are transferred to @eddie-earner and powered up. This increases the EDS income pool a little faster which in time, reduces the EDS APY decline. The more HIVE EDS can extract from EDS-vote, the faster we will see the EDS APY start to increase.

Apart from owning EDS miners, delegating HP to @eds-vote is the only way to mint new EDS into circulation and they are minted at the value of 1 HIVE each even if they are trading for 1.50 HIVE on hive-engine.
