LATAM Blockchain Summit Day 2 - Big things in the works!

(Edited)

Wow what a day! After finishing my post yesterday morning, I headed back to the event to consolidate and finish the work that was started in Day 1. In summary, attending this summit was hugely productive, following on with groundwork laid at CriptoLatinFest and should produce huge dividends for HIVE in the near term.

Oh, and I need business cards.

My first stop was Coincaex, where I had failed to win a Bitcoin beanbag the first day. Yes, cards on the table, I got some fantastic merch at this event, but this bean bag that almost got away is my favorite.

I also am toting home a nice hoodie and three new t-shirts, a hat, two notebooks and a collection of pens. Okay, the disclosure period is over, let's get to work.

I found @jthomasewsky wearing the HIVE t-shirt from cryptoLatinFest, and he asked me if he could be a HIVE ambassador. Of course HIVEColombia does not yet have an ambassador program, but I told him if he helped me consolidate a meeting with the head guy of Colledge he could definitely be a pre-ambassador.

This will come into play later, pay attention. First we have to headover to BingX, an exchange based in Singapur but with strong outreach in Latin America.

Thanks to @arlettemsalase for laying the groundwork here at CriptoLatinFest, Karen Nieves had already heard of HIVE and was extremely interested in listing us, including an HBD listing.

We have a meeting planned next week, where we can consolidate the details - but it sounds like she is even interested in listing some of our subtokens, I mentioned DEC specifically for all you Splinternerds out there, but she really liked the idea of integrating our ecosystem into BingX in multiple ways.

Unergy is an interesting company, tokenizing solar panel assets and their production on Polygon. I invited them to use HIVE blockchain to document their deeds in Latin America, and they agreed that it sounded like a good idea, and I've got their contact now.

I also met up with the whole team at Union Block, they are going to be able to help me with a problem that has been looming over me for ECOBANK, and Stefano the leader will consider a proposal from me about integrating HIVE into their social media strategy.

One thing I like to do from time to time is also talk to 'the help'. Whether its the people serving coffee or taking tickets, these are real people too.

Viviana here is an instagram model who was working with Direct Trading, and although she doesn't know much about crypto yet she is interested, and is now following @hiveblocks_es on instagram. I told her we would love to hear from her tutorials about what her strategies are on ticktock and instgram, while she learned about HIVE, and in the future she could get remunerated to create ticktock and instagram content about HIVE. She seemed to like this idea!

Algorand has a new upcoming game (Christmas release), and I got an NFT for it! Its called Gunny, and it looks pretty cool - I have their contact to, so we can connect about using HIVE as part of their social media strategy.

I did take the chance to sit down and talk to some guys, on the left we have an explanation of Meta Protocol on Neer, mustachio'd Juan from Latblock again, and Julian Uribe has his own marketing firm.

While enjoying some coffee we spoke about some of the things going on in the space, challenges and obstacles, and how some projects are situating themselves to overcome.

IMG_20231006_161615.jpg

I continued talked with Julian Uribe about his marketing efforts, and what could be possible for HIVE and HIVE-based projects. I have several of my own, and I work with and invest in many others - I gave him an example - what would you do for X project if they had hired me to help with marketing?

We had a good long talk, the conclusion of which will be in an upcoming post. In the end we decided that we could use his contacts to do something to help HIVE and projects on HIVE, so follow along for this proposal I will have for the entire community of builders on HIVE very soon.

Important conversations continued into the end of the event, where I once again found @jthomasewsky repping HIVE, this time on and near the main stage on the 5th floor. He told me that the team from Colledge - the one's with which we are going to produce a masterclass course dealing with HIVE, were ready for me.

And that is how I, apparently looking like a complete lunatic, confirmed with top members of Colledge both the interest and intent to produce with us such a course about HIVE, and snapped this wild selfi.

It was time to pack it up. This night I wasn't planning on heading to the after party - but I did follow @jthomasewsky and his production crew Bryan and Julian over to a nearby coffeeshop, where CornerMarket was having a 'free coffee' promotion. We chatted up the owner as you can see in this picture, and after awhile a member of the CornerMarket Team, Wilfredo, came over and talked to us.

Yes indeed, they are also quite interested in listing HIVE and HBD in their commerce app, which I think could be very interesting to integrate with and multiply the efforts of the HIVE Sucre community around Latin America.

It was a big day, with a lot of work left to come, but I feel really good about the work that was done, the conversations that were had, and the ability of HIVE to offer to almost any project something to improve their experience.

And I noticed something funny, back at the hotel, guess what room I was staying in? 404 - but I did find it both nights, thank goodness.

There wasn't much sleep involved, I got up at 3am to pack and get down to the bus station, grabbing the first bus back to Libano. I woke up already 2 and a half hours into the travel, so it seemed to go by pretty fast for me. I have lots to do at home, and we had achieved what we came for.

In the end, these two days went really well, but there is a lot of follow up work to do. There are a number of projects interested in using HIVE in one way or another, but getting listings and integrations for HIVE and HBD will be big wins for us, and I think we can manage possible even multiple. On top of this, doing a masterclass on HIVE will provide us with a much needed onboarding funnel outside of our own ecosystem. We are working hard on these things.

There is more to come from HIVEColombia, we are just getting started.

Freedom and Friendship

It sounds like you had a great time there and it looks like we can expect some more secondary markets for Hive or the HE tokens. I am looking forward to them and hopefully, you can replicate something similar to sucre over there in Colombia.

The best and most enjoyable work is with friends and the way we see that you have completed your first day's work and are having fun with your friends.
