I got my twitter check mark

So I'm doing it. Back in April, I announced that I was thinking about going 'reply-guy' on twitter. Well I'm on it now, today is my third day. I went from about 1000 views to... well take a look here:

I've been thinking a lot about the right strategies. Just yelling always about #HIVE I don't think is such a good strategy. It doesn't seem to have worked for anyone else. I have no idea if its true about 'shadowbanning', I just think its boring. Nobody knows what HIVE is and it probably sounds just as cultish as other cryptotwit influencers shouting about their shitcoin.

So I have decided I will be an actually interesting dude. And I started by editing my profile a bit, give me some feedback in the comments:

One additional thing I want to do is to put my LN v4v address in my description, and change my display name. This will disappear my check for 7 days, and I am still thinking about my new display name - I'll do it eventually here and also be able to test if there is a difference in reach with or without the checkmark.

Although reach is not really the number I am looking at. Its good, and important - but what I really need is more followers. I have some personal plans in the works - and I will be asking for your help fellow Hivers along the way - so stay tuned for that.

This is an example of reply-guy. It requires some sense, I'm not really that great at 'hot takes' but I am good at putting the sense into nonsense, of which there is a lot. I don't like to be mean, there is no need. Just gentle reminders of how stuff works.

Reply-guy is pretty good for getting reach, but I also need to work to have content on my feed that makes people want to follow me.

That was one of the reasons I took the time to put together this collection of my philosophy posts. I found that I had written 82 of them over the last 6 years, and it will give me a lot of fuel moving forward.

With this organized, and as my new pinned post, I can easily create threads of content reviewing some of the things I have discussed in the past, and position myself as a creator of valuable content.

I can also casually mention that my content is 'locked in the blockchain' and get people used to seeing peakd links. There is some discussion about inleo, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. But I am looking into it.

Take this twitter thread for example:

I still don't have the reach to get very good interaction on my posts, but having these made will allow me to repost them later, and might make people think about following me for more cool info like this one.

Its something that I am working on. I have had a lot of time to think over the last several days (more on that adventure coming soon), and I have made some decisions. I will be working on producing some additional types of content, stuff that should synergize quite well with what I am doing on Twitter and HIVE.

Follow along for more of my adventures!

Freedom and Friendship

This is a good move. I opened a new Twitter account 3 months ago or thereabout just to try something new with it, but I lost my firepower after 3 weeks because I was quite busy with other stuff.

The steps you are taking are awesome. Web3 is amazing, but if we want to grow even bigger, we need to grow a WEb2 presence. That will subsequently give us a push whenever we want to get into some sort of marketing for Hive outside the blockchain.

That "reply-guy" comment your shared is awesome. People in web2 can be quite toxic with their replies. It's nice to see something more humane.

Keep it up, man. I'm also considering getting back to building a presence on Web2.

Steve Jobs didn't even bother ringing a single customer up? Slacker.

Grats on the blue check mark!

Congratulations on the Twitter check mark and I think it might be a good thing to move away from promoting Hive directly. I don't think many people look upon it nicely if that is all you focus on. I think using Hive when it's reasonable is better to attract people over.

I'm going to focus on some of the other cool things I do. I happen to be a cool guy doing cool stuff, like moving to Latin America, speaking Spanish, developing sustainable regenerative agriculture, responsibly managing several crypto portfolios through bull and bear - I think I could be interesting and gain some foothold as a positive influencer.

If it ever comes up, of course ECOBANK and HIVE have been a big part of my journey. I'll be sure to mention it from time to time, when appropriate.

It's good that people are seeing you there, so promote on that platform and on Twitter to get new users.
