Saving money cooking at home!

My wife and I both have the weakness of wanting to eat out regularly. We both find it simple. We both find it easy. We both find it faster. We both do not like doing dishes.

The problem with eating out is that it cost a lot of money especially when you have three kids I guess. It adds an extra calories for sure. Because it’s really hard to order the lowfat options when you go out and you’re spending your money. You just wanna eat what you want to eat.

As I focus more and more on, skipping eating out at lunch. I’ve slowly transition as well to eating out less at night. We have cut it down to basically one to two times a month now.

Even better than saving money with the strategy is that I’m becoming a better Cook. I’m starting to like what I cook more and I usually end up eating healthier. Take a look at my last two dinners I prepared for my family.

This coming week I’ve got some great salads. Planned with some grilled chicken. I’m also planning on cooking some stirfry throughout the work week. And almost every week now we have at least one night when we have lettuce wraps. Usually I make so much though that we get two nights a week. I really like this low carb option as well.

The hardest part about cooking at home is getting more kids to eat it. That has been one of our biggest challenge, especially our middle child. He just wants to eat peanut butter and jelly’s all day every day. I think if we let him he would eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next year.

Any tips for picky children?

I hope y’all enjoy your weekend. See you on the flipside.

Eating out may actually be expensive but it saves you from the stress of cooking
That's basically why I love it
I love the fact that you usually have a good time with your wife

Eating home is so much better than going out. At least for me it is. I really enjoy cooking and actually have a degree as a chef. Never used it but the skills and knowledge are there.
My girlfriend’s son is a really picky eater and he’s 13. He’s never used a condiment ever. Has eaten peanut butter and jelly ever day for lunch since he was 4. He won’t eat a hamburger or hot dog. He loves steak, chicken, pasta and pizza. He will eat eggs, pancakes and oatmeal though for breakfast.
My daughter on the other hand, I made a deal with when she was young. She had to try whatever I made for dinner, if she didn’t like it I wouldn’t make it again. There were very few dishes she didn’t end up liking.

Both those meals look delicious.

One can almost buy a grocery order with the cost of eating out these days.

Cheap take-out isn't so cheap anymore.
