2023 夏日電玩展 (五) / 2023 SUMMER GAME SHOW (Part 5)
大部份的小孩都會用各種手邊可以找到的東西來玩耍，可能會是木棍或石頭，玩具或公仔的歷史可以追溯到古代，在考古工作中，人們發現過代表孩童，動物和士兵的玩偶和模仿大人勞動工具的小玩具，數千年前古埃及的小孩玩的娃娃有假髮及可活動的四肢，是由石頭、木頭及寶石製成，這種小型的可動人偶，這可以視為早期的玩具公仔，最早已知的實體益智遊戲來自希臘，約在公元前三世紀，是一個可以分為十四片的正方形，目的是用這十四片拼出不同的圖案，現代玩具公仔的歷史始於 19 世紀末和 20 世紀初，特別是 20 世紀起是玩具發展黃金年代，因為工業革命，生產技術進步，這使得大規模製造玩具變得可能，使得玩具的供給可以趕上日益增加的需求，玩具不再是有錢小孩能擁有的東西，即使是一般的家庭也有能力購買玩具給小孩，隨著時代演變，玩具已經不只是小孩專屬的，很多成人也對玩具也情有獨中。
這次的電玩展，不只是電玩、遊戲及桌遊而已，也納入了玩具及公仔項目，方舟玩具出張大交流會是首次出現在此展覽，主辦單位方舟玩具，以推廣日美系玩具公仔為核心，他們的公仔通常會受到粉絲和收藏家的喜愛，因為它們往往具有高度的細節和品質，曾主協辦多場玩具市集聚會，自始皆以玩具為主要規畫內容，多年來成果豐碩，並聚集了眾多的同好、粉絲及收藏家，這次的交流會，由方舟玩具主導，交流會的各個攤位主帶來他們多年來收藏的逸品，可以是交流，也可以是販售，畢竟把珍藏讓給有緣人後，才可以收進來新的逸品，這就是此交流會最主要的目的。
玩具市集的大宗商品大多是模型、一番賞、日美系的商品也不少，方舟的攤主言談之間都很專業，他們之中的很多，都是有另外的正職，只是利用交流會的機會來擺攤，有些攤主會主動跟客戶分享一些個人經驗，另外，還有一些人氣 Youtuber，如孫生- Soon、Sandy 珊迪及至高的收藏等，也又到現場來直播或串門子，我在逛展途中，就有看到好幾組 Youtuber 正在做直播開箱，最吸引人們目光的是一些攤位的抽獎活動，獎品大多是高價的模型公仔，只要有在攤位消費，就可以到抽獎機轉一個幸運數字，假如運氣好的話，就可以把價錢不斐的頭獎搬回家，這區的人潮也不少，總是擠得水洩不通，移動困難。
某些攤位販賣的商品，其實都是我們小時候隨手可得的玩具，但經過十來年後，某些玩具可能停產或變得罕見，當人們想重新再擁有它們，因為它們的珍稀性，讓它們變得值錢，某些罕見、古老或受歡迎的兒童玩具或公仔在這個市場上的價錢，可能是各位想像不到的高價，特別是那些玩具非常罕見，且保存狀態極佳的情況下，收藏家市場一直是個相當活躍的市場，它提供了一個同好們交流及投資的機會。

"Most kids tend to play with whatever they can find around, be it sticks or rocks. The history of toys and action figures can be traced back to ancient times. In archaeological work, people have discovered dolls and small toys that represent children, animals, and soldiers. There were also miniature tools that mimicked adult labor. Thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt, children played with dolls that had wigs and movable limbs. These dolls were made from materials like stone, wood, and gemstones. These small movable figurines can be considered early toy action figures.
The earliest known physical puzzle game came from Greece, dating back to around the 3rd century BC. It was a puzzle that could be divided into fourteen pieces, with the goal of assembling these pieces to form different patterns. The history of modern toy action figures began in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly in the 20th century, which marked the golden age of toy development. The Industrial Revolution and advancements in manufacturing technology made mass production of toys possible, meeting the increasing demand. Toys were no longer something only wealthy children could have; even average families could afford to buy toys for their kids.
As times evolved, toys were no longer exclusive to children; many adults also developed an interest in toys. This gaming expo isn't just about video games, tabletop games, and electronic games; it also includes toys and action figures as part of its offerings. The "Ark Toys Expo" is making its debut at this exhibition, organized by Ark Toys, with a core focus on promoting Japanese and American-style toy action figures. These figures are often beloved by fans and collectors because of their high level of detail and quality.

The main commodities at this toy market consist mainly of models, "Ichiban Kuji" (a popular Japanese lottery-style game for collecting exclusive items), and products with a Japanese-American influence. The booth owners at Ark Toys are quite knowledgeable about their offerings, and many of them have other professions but use these expos as an opportunity to set up booths. Some booth owners actively share personal experiences with customers.
Furthermore, there are popular YouTubers such as Soon, Sandy, and The Supreme Collector who come to the event to livestream unboxing or make appearances. I noticed several YouTubers doing live unboxing streams on the floor during my visit. What attracts the crowd's attention the most are the raffle events at some booths. The prizes are often high-value model action figures, and by making a purchase at the booth, attendees can participate in the raffle. If lucky, they could take home a valuable grand prize. This area is always crowded, making it difficult to move around.
Some items sold at certain booths are actually toys that were easily available during our childhoods. However, after a decade or so, some toys may have been discontinued or become rare. When people want to reacquire them due to their rarity, the prices can be surprisingly high. Particularly rare, old, or popular children's toys or action figures can command prices in this market that you might find astonishing. It's especially true if the toys are exceptionally rare and in excellent condition. The collector's market has always been quite active, providing an opportunity for enthusiasts to connect and invest.
Apart from games and technology, summer gaming expos often feature special events and performances. There might be lectures by renowned game developers or entertaining shows, making the whole event even more diverse.
