獨立遊戲目前沒有明確的定義,更多的是指具有獨立精神的遊戲,通常由個人或開發者製作,沒有大型遊戲發行商的資金和技術支持,重點在於表達自我,展現不一樣的想法與創意,其出發點更多是在表達而不是盈利,近年台灣獨立遊戲風潮逐年成長,但缺乏走出國際的能量,所以自 2019年起,夏日電玩展就有創設獨立遊戲區「 Indie House 」,除了推廣獨立遊戲之外,也吸引國外團隊來台灣交流,並把台灣的創作能量發送出去,今年,在現場我覺得較特別的獨立遊戲有《女鬼橋二》,可能是搭上電影《女鬼橋2:怨鬼樓》的名氣,現場排隊等待要體驗的玩家很多,它是一款現代校園題材的第一人稱多視角懸疑恐怖遊戲,玩家將會化身故事中的四名主角找出隱藏多年的校園秘密,並拼湊真相,十分應景即將來臨的七月。

《星躍物語 Star Leaping Story》是一款台灣個人獨立開發 PC 單機遊戲,從軟體、美術、音樂、劇情設定及過場演出皆由一人製作,完成度很高,已於嘖嘖募資成功,近日即將上線 Steam 平台,和創作者小聊一下,可以感覺到他對於遊戲的熱血, 「在家扮工」是澳門獨立遊戲製作團隊的作品,遊戲可以 1 至 4 名玩家合作,玩家扮演一個寫字樓文員,面對老闆時拼命「扮工」,背著老闆時盡情「偷懶」,適當的分配「偷懶」及「扮工」,隨手拿起工作環境中的物資來和同事享受偷懶的時光,題材真是特別,不虧是獨立遊戲,不過,不可否認的是,它是一款輕鬆紓壓的派對遊戲,特別是工作後,看到遊戲的玩法,真是讓人不自由主的發出會心一笑。

《妖睨之境The Sight of Darkness》是一款學生畢業作品,玩家扮演一名私人偵探,因為某起平凡的失物尋回委託,意外放出了封印百年的妖怪。 為了避免帶來災禍,必須盡快找回妖怪,有較多的解謎及推理成分,就像《妖睨之境The Sight of Darkness》,也有一些獨立遊戲是遊戲相關院所學生的畢業作品,學生通常較有活力,有想法,有衝勁,勇於表達自我,發揮潛能,所以獨立遊戲中,不乏創意十足的學生作品。

《傳送地下城》也是一款臺灣獨立遊戲工作室的作品,支持 4 人合作,玩家作為一名冒險者,將和您的好友們勇敢的在這傳送門世界尋找最後的傳送門,打敗強大的敵人拯救世界,每次開始或死掉開始的地圖都不一樣,我覺得遊戲算是中規中矩,但是讓人玩得欲罷不能,越多人一起玩會越好玩,《Immune Simulator》這款遊戲,今年在東京電玩展獲得獨立遊戲精選展品,所以我特別去觀看遊戲是怎樣遊玩,它是一款末日殭屍風格的類卡牌棋盤遊戲,但我不是很喜歡這款遊戲,步調比較慢,美術顯得很單調,不會很吸引我想去體驗,音樂帶點壓迫感,我可以理解它的整體設計是要符合末日殭屍風格,是合理的設計,我只能說,我跟這款遊戲不合。

其它還有很多獨立遊戲攤位,有些因為試玩的人太多,我不想排隊,所以,失去體驗機會,有些遊戲,我光看別人在試玩,我就知道,這遊戲我不感興趣,所以跳過,畢竟這是一場由海內外 40 組獨立遊戲團隊展出,總共有 50 款獨立遊戲的展覽,加上人潮那麼多,絕對無法體驗全部的遊戲,有些遺珠之憾,在所難免。

Independent games currently lack a clear definition. They are more about having an independent spirit in games, often developed by individuals or small teams without the financial and technical support of major game publishers. The focus is on self-expression and showcasing unique ideas and creativity. The emphasis is more on expression rather than profit. In recent years, the indie game scene in Taiwan has been growing, but it lacks the international presence. Therefore, since 2019, the Summer Game Expo has established an indie game section called "Indie House." Apart from promoting indie games, it also attracts foreign teams to Taiwan for exchange and spreads Taiwan's creative energy abroad.

This year, at the event, there was a standout indie game called "The Haunting of Bridge II" It possibly gained attention due to its association with the movie "The Haunting of Bridge 2: Ghost Tower". Many players were waiting in line to experience it. It's a modern campus-themed first-person multi-perspective suspense horror game. Players embody four main characters in the story to uncover long-hidden campus secrets a[nd piece together the truth, which is quite fitting for the upcoming July.

"Star Leaping Story"](https://www.zeczec.com/projects/star-leaping-story) is a Taiwanese indie PC game developed by a single individual. It's a highly polished game with one person responsible for software, art, music, storyline, and cutscenes. It successfully crowdfunded on Zeczec and is about to be released on the Steam platform. In a recent conversation with the creator, you can feel their passion for the game.

"Office Pretender" is a creation of an independent game development team from Macau. The game supports 1 to 4 players working together. Players act as office clerks who strive to "pretend to work" when the boss is around and fully embrace "slacking off" when the boss isn't looking. By strategically balancing between slacking off and pretending to work, players can enjoy moments of laziness with office supplies, making it a unique and lighthearted party game, especially appealing after a day of work.

"The Sight of Darkness"is a student graduation project where players become a private detective who accidentally releases a century-old demon while investigating a seemingly ordinary lost item case. To prevent disaster, they must quickly retrieve the demon. The game involves a lot of puzzle-solving and deduction. Similar to "The Sight of Darkness," some indie games are also graduation projects from game-related institutions. Students often have the energy, ideas, and enthusiasm to express themselves and showcase their potential, resulting in creatively rich student-made indie games.

"Underground Dungeon" is another game from a Taiwanese indie game studio. It supports 4-player cooperation, where adventurers must brave a portal world to find the last portal, defeat powerful enemies, and save the world. The maps change each time you start or die, creating replay value. While the game might be fairly standard, it's incredibly engaging, especially with more players participating. On the other hand, "Immune Simulator," an indie game that received recognition at the Tokyo Game Show this year, didn't resonate with me. It's a post-apocalyptic zombie-themed card/board game hybrid. The pacing is slower, the art feels monotonous, and while the design matches the zombie theme, it's just not my preference.

There were many other indie game booths, but some had long lines for demos, so I skipped them to avoid missing out on other experiences. Some games I could tell from watching others play that I wouldn't be interested. With 40 independent game teams from around the world showcasing a total of 50 indie games, along with the huge crowds, it's impossible to experience all the games, and some regrets are inevitable.
