BATTLE MAGE SECRETS: FOCUS IN AIMLESS, DONT TAKE MANY APPROACHES
Hello my fellow Splinterlands Players
Welcome to my second weekly Splinterlands Battle Mage Secret challenge. We still have AIMLESS Ruleset as our theme. Because this is my second entry, I won't go detail about this ruleset so we can check the battle better.
Because AIMLESS gives scattershot ability to all of the units in the battlefield, as the name of ability sounds of, the damage will be all scattered. From defensive point of view, it is more easy to defend our line up if our opponent does not have focused attack...
That's the case for this post... If they do not focus their attack... if they do? Well two thing for sure:
- Who move first
- Who hit harder
There is no who defend better in this dictionary. So this is our main topic for the battle, sometime you do not need to have great defense in this AIMLESS ruleset. OK Let's check our battle then...
THE BATTLE
This was a Gold League battle of Wild Format. I was using @Blackkrrsantan, a Scholarship account for Juice Guild from bulldog1205 one of our famous streamer.
We had an Aimless rulesets, but let check the other things first. Weak Magic Ruleset, Are You Not Entertained? ruleset and last was 45 mana cap. Interesting and tricky. So here were my points of building my line up
- 45 mana cap, I needed to get 6 units team and all must be a good one. I must not get trapped by picking big units then the rest just useless fillers.
- Lost Magic... This was a the area of expertise of DIEMONSHARK and Kelya Frendul. Definitely would go with Water Element.
- I believed having a gladius card was not a must, however... I had decided to pick ISGALT VORST.
So this was how the battle went:
- The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents. My opponent brought WAVE BROOD, defintely he wanted to play defensively, especially with the addition of Angelic Mandarin and Swamp Bitter.
- My opponent had 11 melee damage, and 6 range damage. It's a combined 17 damage per round.
- My team had 19 melee damage and 2 magic damage. combined all its became 21 per round.
- My team was more offensive one, with higher attack damage however we had lesser health point and no healing supports. So its a gangho, I saw no merit to defend if we could bulldoze them in one go.
- Round 2 started with 5 vs 5 condition. Both of us lost an unit. He lost his Wave Brood and I lost my only buffer, the River Hellondale.
- His Noa the Just evaded 3 incoming attacks, this would be a major blow on my side.
- Round 3 started with 5 vs 5 condition, but my side looked a lot battered.
- my Isgalt Vorst missed again, that was twice in a row, and later he got killed.
- We finally managed to kill that NOA THE JUST, if we did not make it in this round, it would be a GG
- 4 vs 4 now. Round 4 started with all of their units were still on max health. That's not the same case with my side, my Diemonshark even already got poisoned.
- As expected, my Diemonshark died in this round
- 3 vs 4, things should look bad for me right? Well its not... Their Kulu Mastermind died first from poison, and that changed everything.
- With higher speed, my NOA THE JUST and KULU MASTERMIND killed their Deeplurker... My team managed to turn the table.
- oh look!! I was winning right now LOL
- They survived round 6, however this was the end. Good Game
CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION
It's a similar powered team, both of us came with water elements too... Actually it was a close one, but due to their 2 range units, in the end they looked very bad. Ok lets see what points we can take from this battle.
1 LACK OF FOCUS
They should have won this battle in the beginning, because their NOA THE JUST managed to dodge 20 incoming damages. However they failed to win because of two failing range units. The scattershot target did not favor their pattern.
On another side, they tried to build a defense, but using 3 units. IF only they use 2 units, they could get extra heavy hitter and that could ended me well.
Focus!! that's their mistake. If you want to attack, build a good attack line up. If you want to defense, make sure its hard to get killed. Don't try to excel on both
2 RULESET EXPLOITATION
In general rulest, they should have won this battle too. However they forgot that this was not a normal ruleset. We had Weak Magic ruleset. Why would you have Swamp bitter to fix your armor but you did not bring any unit with protect ability? We had weak magic, so expect your opponent would have a rust ability in their team.
This was my main reason why I did not defend at all. I believed setting a defend in this ruleset combination would make my momentum halted. Later it was proven too once all the melee died, their range units really could not do anything.
ok that's for today, Have fun with AIM LESS ruleset. And please and don't forget to leave your comment or feedback below. thank you.
