First and foremost a hustling student is a student that does trade on the street or on campus to raise money for school fees, accommodation, feeding and logistics.

This has been the live of many students while in school. Some of the students do engage themselves in online business. Some got scammed and as a result of this, some dropout of school. This shows that being a self sponsor student is not an easy task. My case is not far from this.

How I Started

In my year one known as level one hundred, I engaged myself in refer and get paid business where I connected costumers to a vendor for their business transactions. Such vendors includes electronic dealers, computer operator, laundry operators and food stuff dealers.

I got my commission at the end of the transaction. This went along way to provide my feeding money but could not meet my demands in school such as paying of school fees and buying of textbooks as my father who use to provide for my school and textbooks died as I was about writing my second semester examination.

How I Succeeded

The refer and get paid exposed me to computer operating business. Computer operating business is a business that involved hard ware and soft ware operation. As a student, I was interested in the software computer operation which expose me to internet and Microsoft word application where I can type assignment do research and seminar. With this business idea I was able to raise money to pay my school fees and buy textbooks as well.

The stress Involved

Combining business with academic work load wasn’t easy. I do miss some lectures due to the fact that I have to finish other students’ assignment before thinking about my own and lectures. I slept late at night but as stressful as this could be, I will still attain night class in order to meet up with test and examination requirements.

My final year, level four hundred was the most trying level. Much money was required for school fees, research presentation, seminar presentation, house rent and final year clearance. My engagement in business to raise money for these needs was so stressful. I double up my hustling; I will do computer business in the day time and will engage in research and seminar work in the night time. This I did day in day out. And finally, I backed my Bachelor in Science Education (Bsc.Ed.) in Mathematics Education from the prestigious department of Science Education, University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

To sum it up, a hustling student goes to bed late and wake up early to carter for his/her academic need while in school.
