What is love?

Love is an emotion that adds immense joy and fulfillment in our lives. It is the fulfilment of destiny and purpose.

However, despite the joy it brings, it can also be a source of pain. No wonder when people are heartbroken out of love, it takes them a very long time to get over it. Some people do not even heal thus they attempt to commit suicide as it is the only way out to heal from the pain.

From my findings, love and maturity are connected. There is an intricate relationship between love and maturity and if not properly balanced, may result to a devastating situation. But if well balanced, it sure leads to a wonderful romantic relationship.

How does Love and Maturity intertwine?

Love and maturity brings Self-awareness. Ordinarily, maturity itself is as a result of self-realization. We tend to understand better our relationship and our partner when we are mature enough.

We try to understand the needs,desires and even the compatibility level of our partner. We try to communicate effectively and choose to resolve issues quickly for the sake of peace. This is the stage where self-awareness leads us to.

Another thing is that love and maturity helps us regulate our emotions. Relationships are full of ups and downs. Thus when we see this wave, we try as much as we can to curb it and even handle the situation before it gets out of hand.

The ability to navigate through the storms in relationships is what maturity does in love relationships.

Effective communication is a bedrock of every successful relationship. Maturity helps us communicate openly no matter the situation in all honesty.

With maturity, you will realize that in you can communicate respectfully too which in turn strengthens respect, intimacy and trust.

When there is maturity, automatically there is Commitment. By commitment I mean, the realization that successful relationship requires a lot of consciousness in work, sacrifices, dedication, investment in each other to foster growth amongst partners.

However, it is important to know that a long- lasting relationship is not easy to keep. There are challenges which I think is important for the growth and bond of partners. Maturity is a continuous process and both partners should be deliberate about it.

To add, long-lasting relationships is achievable if we are more understanding, patient and communicate effectively.

A healthy relationship is very essential as it is fulfilling and leads to a harmonious relationship.

When I first got married, it felt like I had carried a big burden for myself. Even though I love my wife, I was always upset at almost everything she did. We ended up arguing a big deal.

Things didn't change until I learnt how to communicate properly, forgive more and adapt to the fact that I was now married and will continue to live with this woman for the rest of my life.

If you want a healthy life and relationship, you need to apply the rule of love and maturity.
