My cultivated plants "Dioscorea alata"

Hi everyone, today I'm back here to share some photos that I planted during 2023, yeah the year is almost over but I haven't shared it in its entirety with all of you, but you need to know that I cultivate various different types of plants, as mentioned above. If you look at some of my previous posts, you will find several types of plants that I cultivate, but the plants I am sharing today have never been shared with you before.

The cultivated plants that I share with you today are unique when compared to other plants, previously I shared several types of plants that only require a small amount of land, but not with today's plants, these plants are vines, so to plant them I need special land. so that my other plants are not disturbed, if I plant tomatoes, chilies, cassava and several others with this plant then it will be a problem, because this plant will wrap around all parts of other plants which will be disturbed for growth, so I plant this plant in place special.

This plant has fruit in the ground and usually our residents use the fruit from this plant to make delicious porridge, and the harvest period for the plant is also quite long, it takes a year to get fresh fruit, in our city the fruit of this plant is known by the name " Purple Sweet Potato", this name is based on the purple color of the fruit, apart from being used as porridge and other snacks, this fruit is also beneficial for health and one of them is to increase hemoglobin in the blood, so this plant can also be said to have many benefits for humans. Even though planting is more complicated than other plants, the benefits it provides pay off.

Dioscorea alata – also called purple yam, ube (/ˈuːbɛ, -beɪ/), or greater yam, among many other names – is a species of yam (a tuber). The tubers are usually a vivid violet-purple to bright lavender in color (hence the common name), but some range in color from cream to plain white. It is sometimes confused with taro and the Okinawa sweet potato beniimo (紅芋) (Ipomoea batatas cv. Ayamurasaki), however D. alata is also grown in Okinawa. With its origins in the Asian tropics, D. alata has been known to humans since ancient times. Wikipedia
