Are you looking for that magic formula on how to improve, how to grow your account, how to....... Well I have the perfect system for you.
Sometimes I get tired of hearing everyone say you need to do this, or you need to do that. You must follow these steps to be successful or grow your account or make more money or etc. I would love to have that magic bullet that solves all my problems, or grows my account so that I am a whale. Wouldn't that be nice for me but where does that leave you?
The current book I am reading "The Art of Achievement" by Tom Morris shares the 7 C's of Success:
- A clear Conception of what we want, a vivid vision, a goal clearly imagined.
- A Strong Confidence that we can attain our goal.
- A focused Concentration of what it takes to reach that goal.
- A stubborn Consistency in pursuing out vision.
- An emotional Commitment to the importance of what we're doing.
- A good Character to guide us and keep us on a proper course.
- A Capacity to Enjoy the process along the way.
I am not going to give you a summary of the book, just an example for their system.
When I first got on the hive platform, I was told to follow the 3C's - Creation, Comment and Curate. I read post now that say follow the 3C's - Creation, Comment and Consistency. Last week, I wrote an article titled "Success takes Practice and Preparation"
So you may ask, which is it. It is all of the above and none of the above. All of the advice you get is just that advice on how someone else found a way to be successful. Granted there are systems that will help you progress. I am not saying they will not. The 3C's helped me.
The magic bullet that everyone should follow is this:

U B U. Always, every single day, over and over again. U B U.
Listen to peoples advice apply it to your situation for the moment in time that you are in now. Try all of the advice, or some of it. But find what works for you today and over time tweak it to fit you. What works today for you may not work tomorrow. But the important thing through all of this is that U B U. Do what works for you!!! Never stop, never give up, never stop taking that one step forward.

I will add that title to my list, @daarmst5339! But yes, I love the U B U advice. I am in business for myself because I didn't want a boss telling me what to do. I appreciate advice and like you said, use what fits for me at the moment. I am fortunate to not have to work for anyone else. Being myself works well since trying to be anyone else is too much work.
Most newcomers just want everyone to give them a script or lead them through exactly what to do and when to do it. I have been around for a while and learned things along the way. Even in the four short months, I have been on the hive platform. What works for me now would not have worked that first month because of where I am at and where my account is at.

This is so simple, yet so true and effective.
I love the 7 C's that you share in your post. But the central message of your post is something that I feel needs to be shouted from the mountain tops. U B U.
Why do we always want to overcomplicate things? It is so true what you say...to "listen to advice and apply it for the moment in time that you are in now".
It reminds me of a comparison I've heard someone making some time ago. He said, "when someone gives you an orange to eat, you first peel it and then get rid of the pips. You don't eat everything, you just keep what is useful to you".
