How many times have you heard a person you work with or an acquaintance use the phrase

"That's Not My Job!"

or how many times have you used that phrase yourself?

The other day I was on the internet and you know when you are searching for something and those annoying popups happen. I really never pay attention to them but this little plaque that was for sale caught my eye.

I think it caught my eye because just that morning I overheard someone complaining about what there duties were and told their boss or coworker... But "That's Not My Job!"

I thought it was funny to read and lighten my day afterwards.

This is a story about four people
named: Everybody, Somebody
Anybody and Nobody.  There was an
important job to be done and 
Everybody was sure that Somebody
would do it.  Anybody could have done
it, but Nobody did it.  Somebody got
angry about that, because it was 
Everybody's job.  Everybody thought 
Anybody could do it, but Nobody
realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed 
Somebody when Nobody did what
Anybody could have done. 

Next Time Think Before Quoting

The next time you are in a situation where you might be thinking of using this quote, think a little bit first about what it really means. Sometimes it is just that we really don't want to do that item or think it is unfair that someone else is not doing it.

The above quote is so true when it comes to those small dirty jobs that everyone tries to avoid doing but don't want to or think they don't have the time.

The other person involved might just be having a bad day or something bad had happened earlier where they are not in the right frame of mind to even complete it.

The next time you think about saying this, just roll up your shirt sleeves and start doing it. You might be surprised that Everybody joins in to help get it completed.
