dCity - Research Center added but did not consider impact
I have been wanting to add a Research Center for a while now to my dCity. Finally today, I noticed on the market that the costs was finally in the range that I consider affordable.
The Research Center was only 987 SIM or 0.301 Hive. When I was checking a few months ago, the cost of a research center was way over 1 Hive.
Importance of Research Center
The importance of having a Research Center is so that you will be able to start discovering technology from the technology tree.
The Technology Tree consist of 6 different Technology branches:
- Control
- Education
- Automation
- Utility
- Economy
- Health
For the Research Center to be able to discover technology after the branches are unlocked, the probability of discovery is based on education. 80 Education = 1% chance of discovering technology.
The good news is the Research Center provides 10 additional Education points.
Impact of Adding
I did not consider the impact of adding the research center to my dCity. I totally overlooked the requirements to run the Research Center.
A Research Center requires 18 Workers and I only had 3 that were available to work.
Due to this, both my Casino and Pizzeria went inactive.
Now I will need to add workers to be able to reactive those two items.

Two of my cards went inactive and I now have 14 workers that I will need to hire to have everything back in the active status.
