dCity - Pay Attention to City for Optimization

Optimization is key to make the most of your investment in dCity. To Optimize you must pay attention to what is happening on a periodic basis.

Current Status

Here is the map showing the current status of my dCity. There are two things that stand out that I need to address.

  • Third Row: Reflects Active and Inactive cards

    • I have 48 cards but only 47 of those are active

I had added a Brewery but did not notice at the time that the workers moved from the Casino to the Brewery. So when I saw the Brewery active I did not look any further at my dCity's stats. If I would have, I would have noticed the inactive card and that the Casino was now inactive.

  • Ninth Row: Reflects Employment status

    • It is showing that I have 9 People to hire so that my city is fully employed

The reason one of my buildings is inactive is due to not having enough workers to work at all of the owned buildings. When this occurs, a building will go inactive.

Activate Casino and Improve Tax Refund

I will need to add 9 additional workers to active the Casino. I also would like to get more back as a Tax Refund.

By adding Workers and Students, I can accomplish both of these objectives. By running the simulation, I can purchase 3 Workers cards which have two worker each and 2 Student cards which provide 1 Tax Refund each.

Shop for Best Price

I like to look at the market to get the best price for the cards that I am adding. For the workers, I could get each card for 0.18 Swap.Hive

Workers cost 0.18 Swap.hive.PNG

But then when I noticed that the same cards could be purchased using SIM for a little lower price.

Workers cost 566 SIM or 0.174 Hive.PNG

I know it is not much savings of only 0.006 Swap.Hive for each card but I figure funds saved is funds that I could use elsewhere. Purchasing these three cards will provide 6 of the 9 that I will need to hire.

Since Students also count as workers, I like to add them to my dCity to also get the Tax Refund. For the student cards, I found the same as I did with the workers. Buying the cards with Swap.Hive is more expensive than paying with SIM.

Student cost 0.372 Swap.Hive.PNG

Only with the student cards, the cost difference between the two currencies was much greater. I was able to save 0.064 Swap.Hive on each card.

Student cost 999 SIM or 0.308 Hive.PNG

I purchased three cards with SIM.

Yes, I know full well that Student given the proper education will change into Student (debt) cards at which time I lose the Tax Refund. But at that point in time, I will pay off their debt for 100 SIM and they will turn into productive citizens. At that point in time, I will need to determine what next steps to take depending on what citizens they become.

Tax Refund

After adding all of the above to my dCity, I double checked my stats to ensure that I had covered the two items that I had noticed before.

Map after purchases.PNG

All cards are active and my daily SIM income had jumped to 13 SIM per day. Then I remembered that that level of daily income may also get me ranked in the top 400 players for INCOME so I checked the rankings.

New income ranking at 401.PNG

The rankings for the day had updated while I was creating my post and I was ranked 401 just out of the money. As you could see all players ranked 400 or higher get a daily payout of liquid Hive.

Due to this, I went back and purchased another student so that I would have 1 more tax refund making my daily income 14 SIM which should be good enough tomorrow to be in the top 400 and start being paid out.

I will need to watch this very closely since Student cards lose their Tax Refund if they turn into Student (debt) cards but I can address that when it happens.
