The State that got me worried (I.A.A.C #313)

Hello and welcome to my page hiveans. I'm @daniky, and this is day 313 of my entry to #IAmAliveChallenge, an initiative by Eric Gustafsson @flaxz.

#Hiveisalive, I thank God for the gift of life and the daily miracle of sleeping and waking up. I also thank God for mercies and grace upon my life and family despite the challenges of life. We all survived Ebola, Lasa fever, influenza, covid-19 and many more, and all has been attributed to the grace and mercy of the Almighty. The current situation we're thriving to survive is Nigerian economy meltdowns.

Ever since the new administration took over power. Situations have been challenging for most citizens in Nigeria. This started with the removal of fuel subsidy, called the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). Fuel price, which was 167 naira, became 550 naira, and now, it's already at 617 naira. Rumour still jave it that the price is still going up to 1000 naira. The price of fuel now determines the price tag on commodities in the market. Things that cost about $100 now cost almost $500. The naira value has depreciated beyond what one can condole. You now use big money to get little things. Even many production companies have reduced the quality and quantity of their produce to enable them to sell their product at a fair price they considered to be a bit affordable. The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) are doing all it takes to reduce stress on the working populace by regulating the cost of transportation, yet most workers still find the current cost of transportation so exorbitant.

Situations regarding accommodation or house rent is now another contemporary issue. Many landlords are taking unlawful advantages of the increase of cost of producta in the commodity market to inflate the cost of rentage. Unlike many African countries that allow monthly rentage payments, mostly all states in Nigeria permit the payment of yearly house rent. Some even accept 2-year rent payments at once. Even getting a one - or two bedroom flat is now a hot cake for the landlords. Imagine a salary earner receiving a monthly pay of about $70, paying a rent of about $450 yearly, fueling his car, paying diverse bills, and miscellaneous expenses. He would wants to feed and take care of his household. In such a situation, what would he have as a reserve? This is what many workers are facing in Nigeria at the moment, and the economy cycle is so very unfair for them..

Despite the few challenges mentioned among others above, one still needs to survive. My heartfelt goes to most of the less privileged who can't measure up to the present standard of living in the country. Most of the time, i do wonder how they are surviving this moment. No palliative measures is put in place to alleviate their suffering. The statistical rate of poverty amidst the current crisis is so alarming, and this is a contemporary issue that needs to be carefully examined. Nigeria, which should have been one of the most richest countries in the world, is still struggling in its development while the bad leaders are folding their hands. We now have a bunch of grammarians here and there, and sweet-talking politicians who rather prefer "building castles in air or spain" than materialising what they've declared.

The Holy bible stated that "prayer is the master's key," and i definitely know that there is nothing too hard for God to do. Nigeria needs your prayer. The citizens, as well, need to pray for the betterment of the nation. I pray the New Nigeria we all pray and crave will emerge in glory, and development will take over the land. There will be diverse employment for jobless youths and graduates, and corrupt politicians will be relieved of their office. Enough is enough. The poor are getting poorer while the wealthy at the helm of leadership are doing nothing to alleviate their sufferings. Instead, the children of the poor and ordinary citizens are marginalised. They are made to know their boundaries and never keep Karma in mind. I believe some nemesis will definitely catch up with them.

So never stop appreciating the goft of life and what nature has given us all. Never cut the vibes. Let's show love and appreciation for the little we have, and hope for better things ahead.

Thank you, great hiveans, for your time. This is day 313 of my entry to the daily #alive challenge. Below is a snapshot of the guideline on how to participate in this daily challenge. This initiative was brought forward by @flaxz. So, kindly go through and join this challenge.

Pray, yes, followed by organized inspired action. Get together with people in your community to find ways that you may be able to help and support each other, and to begin creating new systems that can get around these present unlivable economic circumstances. I pray that this path is as easeful as possible for the people of Nigeria, and of the world, because what's happening there is also being perpetrated in most countries worldwide, making people's lives very difficult indeed. It is essential that people rely on themselves and each other, not government. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I feel for you, @daniky, the other Nigerians, and people around the world that are experiencing very difficult times because of these intentionally manufactured crises. One thing that might be a useful idea, to circumvent this horrific economic situation, is to look at what @hivesucre is doing in Sucre, Venezuela, and find a way to replicate it where you are. People, in Nigeria, and around the world, need to organize among themselves to circumvent their governments, which do not have their best interests in mind, and create their own systems. This will not be easy, but it can and must be done, or this reliance on government will be people's downfall. This applies to everyone, everywhere, not just Nigeria. I wish you well through these very challenging times, brother. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
