Celebrating Workers Day in Nigeria // Celebrando el Día de los Trabajadores en Nigeria

Hello and welcome back to my page. I am @daniky. This was my activity for the 3^rd of may, and the day 80 of my entry into the #IAmAliveChallenge, an initiative presented by Eric Gustafsson @flaxz.

#HiveisAlive, It's another day embedded with lots of privileges i shouldn't have had if not for God's mercies and grace that sustained me. My family and loved ones are doing great as well.

Today being the second of may is said to be a public holiday to celebrate workers days here in Nigeria. Lots of workers have served the nation to the best of their capacity in diverse fields of endeavours while of workers had lost their lives and family during their course of active service either to their local, state or federal government. This day calls to salute all the fallen heroes of both the civil and public service under the auspices of the federal government of Nigeria.

Se dice que hoy, dos de mayo, es un día festivo para celebrar los días de los trabajadores aquí en Nigeria. Muchos trabajadores han servido a la nación lo mejor que han podido en diversos campos de actividad, mientras que algunos trabajadores han perdido la vida y la familia durante el curso de su servicio activo en el gobierno local, estatal o federal. Este día llama a saludar a todos los héroes caídos tanto del servicio civil como público bajo los auspicios del gobierno federal de Nigeria.

Every 2nd of may is usually a very significant day where the Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress in charge of both civil, public and private workers in Nigeria comes to give his speech to discuss ways forward to better the welfare of the working populace. In addition, renumeration and payment of pension to those retired is not usually left out of the day's agenda.

Cada 2 de mayo suele ser un día muy significativo en el que el presidente del Congreso Laboral de Nigeria, a cargo de los trabajadores civiles, públicos y privados en Nigeria, viene a dar su discurso para discutir las formas a seguir para mejorar el bienestar de la población trabajadora. Además, la retribución y el pago de la pensión a los jubilados no suele quedar fuera de la agenda del día.
