Ignoring the Success Clamor and Doing Your Best With the Resources You Have!

There is lots of good and often inspirational advice in the world on how to succeed, and the importance of doing your best; having the best tools; having the best information, etc.

Whereas these are certainly nice to have as a reference, most of them fail to take into account that many people start projects and endeavors with very limited resources.

Of course quite a few "inspirational types" say that they do take into consideration limited resources and then they immediately go on to talk about how "it only cost $5,000 to get involved" and make lots of rationalizations for why that's not very much money.

For me, that's just an indication that they actually have absolutely no clue what "limited resources" actually means to most people. And perhaps it particularly means something to those of us who are self-employed and literally starting with a $20 bill and a lot of energy... and very little else.

I suppose the positive in all this is that a lot of those of us who genuinely have very limited resources often have one resource at our disposal: "Sweat Equity."

I could even consider something like my own experience here on Hive. I literally had to start with nothing but my ability to create content and engage and the whole notion of "getting rich in crypto" is incredibly far removed from my wheelhouse.

One of the things that's important here is to have realistic expectations as to what you're doing. And that's sort of what I'm driving at by the title of this post. We have to ignore the clamor of what is declared to be possible and what people have previously done to succeed, and instead focus on what we can do to succeed, given our Limited resources.

The fact is that 99.999% of us are neither Bill Gates nor Elon Musk and we're not going to achieve the success they have... and I admit that find it not particularly useful to even use them as a point of inspiration.

I simply can't relate, so why bother?

And I think that is a mistake made by a lot of people who end up failing... they have a target that is ridiculously far out of their reach and then they lament that they failed because they failed to reach that Target. Well... it was never a reachable target, to begin with!

Frankly, I'd much rather shoot for something a lot more modest... but having a reasonable chance of ending up with success!

Thanks for visiting, and till the next one!
