The Power To Give

I have always been someone who loves giving more than receiving and Hive allows me that opportunity through voting. Don't get me wrong I like to receive votes as well as it in time allows me to hand even more out whilst increasing my own value.

When I first started out the frustrating part was voting on posts and you wouldn't even know I had visited as it was pure shrapnel and worthless. Overtime that shrapnel is now worth (today) $2.27 or just over 3 Hive so handing out around $11 every day and over $300 every month.

Throw in the tribal tokens and depending on the tags one could easily throw in another $5 per day to that figure as I mainly curate Sports and Leo. Adding all that up my account adds an extra $450 to the eco system. In some countries that is a salary on it's own and this is Hive still at an undervalued $0.73c so this can be multiplied by much more when the price increases.

I can recall when I was teased by work colleagues when I had a few cents vote value and they had no idea what was being built. At the time I was focused purely on growth and I bet they wouldn't be teasing now if they only knew. Ignorance is bliss for some as if they had spent 10 minutes asking questions maybe they would have realised the opportunity I was working on and taken it upon themselves to apply themselves in the same way.

The reality is human beings are generally lazy when it comes to working on something and tend to give up far too easily. I wouldn't change a thing over the last 3 years as everyone who has stake has something to be proud of. The ability to be able to give to others through a vote that recharges every 24 hours is quite remarkable and why Hive and the tribes is the place that keeps on giving.

I am super bullish that in the years to come someone's rent or a bill could be paid off through a vote of mine. I have seen some large whales in some of the tribes hand out real value to users who are actually living their lives through what they earn here. That is the ultimate dream for many of us and why we take things so seriously as things change the reality looms ever nearer that one day it will happen. In my head it is not an "if" but a "when" as every day ticks over the bigger we all become.

That is the ultimate motivation. To be able to earn is good, but giving is even better. Very cool that Hive makes those two things one and the same.

And the higher the price goes the more valuable the vote. Someday the general crypto market is going to have a light bulb moment concerning Hive. It’s real value created by the community.

I think once they realise how it works it could be too late as everyone and their dog will be here by then. Seems crazy that some don't use Hive as a base during bear markets as at least you can earn loads more.

Someday the general crypto market is going to have a light bulb moment concerning Hive.

What is awesome is that, with the H-E tokens, there are more people floating around with some serious stake.

That is only going to help to enrich the newer people as they come in.

It all keeps building.

Congrats on working your way into such a great voting position.

I'm particularly enjoying the linear vote approach with Leo. It's so much more fun manually curating without worrying about timing. I have no idea what's going on on Hive though as for the most part I hand vote here.

Come to think of it I think my stake here is bigger too. I'll need to check that. 😂

I much prefer manual over auto and possibly Hive will follow Leo in that way of thinking. I do make much more with my auto set for a few however but am doing most of the voting manually these days.

I just read somewhere that there are plans to change the voting window to 2 hours. So all votes made within that time will have equal value. That's better than it is now but not as good as the linear approach from my perpective.

I think we all ready are. I particularly enjoy giving 100% upvotes (small though they are relatively) to people writing about their experiences in Venezuela and, more recently, Myanmar. It's great to be able to help, even if it's just a little bit!

The upvotes values can go a long way in countries like that.

It is heartwarming to give them knowing they are making a different in those areas and the life of the one you are upvoting.

And what happens if the price of Hive 10x from here? Your vote value will move in accordance to that.

I agree and think it will play out like that this year or next year. A simple vote because you kept your stake. Many will feel left out as who can invest when Hive is at $10. I would have to find half a million then to match what I have and then it will hit home how valuable an asset you really have in Hive.

Without a doubt. Yet what you have now, you can keep working and building upon. That is powerful, you are starting from a much higher point than a couple years ago.

It will take a lot more than half a million to make what you will have when Hive hits $10 if you remain active.

isn't it amazing that while we earn we can help others to do so as well? Thus, we can grow all together. When i think that i can give someone 2-5-10 cents with my vote it feels amazing and i want to grow my account even more in order to give away more rewards.

then we got people with larger stake like you for example or some whales that give 1$-2$-10$ with a single vote. That's amazing and something that you never gonna see in real life for example.

Totally true. Being able to give someone a nice "vote" is far more rewarding mentally than receiving them. Although, as you say, receiving them is very nice too. :-) That is my goal. Keep growing so I can one day be a "Toruk" (well maybe not THAT big but, you know what I mean). I would think he has to feel immense satisfaction being able to splash down 50 Leo or more whenever or wherever he wants. In the meantime, I'll keep putting out my 50%ers and dealing out quarters until they become half-dollars, and then dollars, etc. It is fun to watch it grow. Good post!

Hi I'm a new reader, one of the hivers I follow reblogging your content and I got here.

Tribes are very important because they help to generate more income, with just one publication you can generate 2 tokens at a time, that's great.

I don't know if you have posts of your growth process, it would be very interesting to have some tips or examples of how to accumulate in an optimal way more HP, I want to have someday that value of vote that you have.
