OCD Sportstalk Incubation Curation Update
This week has been another one of those weeks where we have seen tremendous growth yet again. Last week we were on 1246 members and this week another 37 joined our ranks taking our tally up to 1283. This is a positive sign as the community is growing at a steady pace. When @ocd jumped in we were sitting around 772 members and on a gradual slide.
Over the last week I have been busy looking for new users to curate and it is always rewarding when you find one or two. I know what it is like to try your hardest only to be missed out all together as though you don't exist. If you feel like that don't give up as I am looking for you and will put your post forward if it meets the standards.
Someone asked me this week what I look for and it is fairly simple. All I need to see is effort and some personal input justifying the extra votes. A 2 minute read won't normally cut it as the post needs some substance. One has to consider posts getting $30 or $40 votes you would hope deserve the reward.
This gives you some idea of the quality of posts we are getting these days.
This week we had 22 posts submitted and out of those 6 were curated for the very first time. We still don't have enough sports posts that would justify extra curation and amazes me that a majority of posts still are like news reports reworded from other sites. This is a dead give away as you will notice 2 or 3 articles very similar with similar headlines and possibly using the same images.
Going forward I will choose a list of the top 5 posts of the week in a type of showcase post so everyone can get an idea of the quality of posts we are seeing today.

One of our very own was lucky enough to go and watch the Olympic Torch relay this week and I know it is not the same thing it is still pretty cool to see what happens.
I would like to try something different and wondered if anyone has been to the Olympics or a World Cup. The tag would be #sportingevents and you could throw in Formula One, tennis anything that is a big sporting occasion that you were lucky enough to go and attend.
I managed to get a couple articles published this past week. I tried to make them "original" but you're still writing about things actually happening in the sports world so "facts" are important I feel. I guess let me know if you feel that they're what you're looking for or if I have to try a different approach. Thank you!
You were curated twice in the last week and the last post was perfectly fine but just couldn't put it through as others need to be given a chance as well. Your posts are perfect as original and have your own spin on things.

I was chanced to watch a football game live in a stadium and I will love to share the experience. However, it's been a long time and I might not get all the details though.

I shared my experience at the rugby match a couple of years ago ... Wow! What a beautiful memory! I would like to return as soon as possible after this long period of abstinence!
