Gina Bot's Last Day

Tools on Hive come and go and sadly we must say goodbye to Gina today. Gina for those of you that don't know was a bot in discord that notified you of anything happening on your Hive account. I have been using Gina for nearly 6 years so it was definitely something I have gotten used to over the years and have really appreciated the use of the services. I had no idea some old phone was being used as a server for Gina to exist and would have definitely voted for funding to keep this going because this is like a piece of the furniture disappearing. Gina has been around for 7 years and no doubt has bought joy to tens of thousands of users. Hive is unlike any other community because the community is made up of so many developers which makes it more fun because something is always being developed and nothing remains constant.

The first message just came through so I expect the service will replicate what Gina offered.

The beeps when you have published a post reminds me of the old casino one arm bandits when the coins hit the pay out tray. Firstly you knew your post had been published and notified you of every vote as it happened. Not only that, but everyone that replied to your post or any comment you may have submitted. This was a real time notification service that helped me stay up to date.

When one door closes another one opens and thankfully F.R.I.D.A.Y bot will continue this service in the future thanks to @dethwing for filling this role. Having a Hive notification service that is geared around your account I do think is a must have tool. Old habits are hard to break but I do think this was a good habit and recommend anyone who doesn't have this service to join.

For anyone looking for Hive tools to make the job of Hive account management a little simpler I use another 3 tools besides Gina/F.R.I.D.A.Y. They are hivetasks.com, hive.codergeek.org and Leofinance's very own hivestats.io. I see all of these as Hive growing tools breaking down highlighting where you Hive growth is actually coming from. The cool thing is they each offer something different and why I use all 4. The one other which is currently down is leodex which allowed you to adjust your voting weight/percentage on the secondary tribal tokens without having to worry about using an alt account for any particular token. This made your vote go slightly further being able to support more members of the Hive community.

Hive is hard enough to understand on it's own and the tools will actually make you learn and understand more about how Hive works just by using them. The tools have been developed and are readily available to make your life easier so I do recommend everyone who is not doing to look them up.
